Topic: Boss DS-1 MIJ

A friend recently borrowed me a DS1 cira '84, and I have to admitt it is probably the best distortion/overdrive I have used, it has amazing clean tones as well unlike the later models due to the TA7136AP opamp,was wandering if anyone on here has tried one as I personally have always stayed clear of distortion pedals but his is my holy grail tone pedal ATM really pleased with it around and my good friend let me keep it because I loved it so much..I'm sure Joe is well aware of these early MIJ models wink

I've still got (and use) mine that I bought sometime in 1981.  For a long time there it was the ONLY pedal I used when gigging.  It's got the silver battery cavity screw and everything.  I posted the below pic on another forum and guys were offering me $200+ for it... LOL

Hi Devan, early boss pedals are fetching serious £s ATM, your DS-1 is a keeper,funny thing is the DS1 was the first pedal I tried years back, and now after trying countless other overdrives/distortions...I end up coming full circle, smile

Today's new is tomorrows vintage market!!!  DON'T SELL ANYTHING if you can help it.  20 years from now you might have a super expensive pedal on your hands.
