Jack Bruce, Ozzy, and Malmsteen's are outrageous.

Bruce - No, I wouldn't trade Clapton for Page but both excelled within their own music. To diss Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, well that is just not right you drunken b@stard. Check for liver damage?

Ozzy - don't know where to start, but the foot powder thing sounds like a joke he just made up. He is one funny SOB.

Malmsteen - hilarious, he wouldn't know good music from a hole in the ground. What a total nothing past and present, give us another stage kick you fat arse and apply more Fast Fret. repeat.

loved Joe's comment on Free, classic appreciation. thanks for posting this.

LOL - I think thats a bit harsh on Yngwie.  He plays a pretty large part in the evolution of rock guitar.  I agree he's a knobhead though !!

My fave is from Alice Cooper

"Mae West whispered to me, 'Why don't you come on back to my trailer?' I said: 'Because you're 86 years old and I'm not even sure if you're a woman or not'. But if I hadn't have been married I would've gone. Definitely. Just for the experience."

I never know that Jack Bruce diss Led Zeppelin/Jimmy Page and Pink Floyd....what a chump.

well, I have to agree with him on Floyd, just never got them at all. Alice is really funny on all of them, and I never knew that Freddie Mercury expressed that kind of humor, terribly dry and therefore oh so English. Ted Nugent is a total douchebag, I'm sorry I paid to see him live in the 70's. His ego makes David Lee Roth look like a choir boy. Ronnie James Dio wanted to play basketball ?, very cool. He was just a little short, maybe a point guard? lol

Totally disagree.  Yngwie has some amazing albums.  Rising Force alone would cement him on my list of all-time great players.  I saw him live last year and it was a really fun show.  He's been a total douche in some older interviews, though, no doubt about that.  He seems to have mellowed a lot lately.

Not sure I trust that all these quotes are actually accurate.  Could be... entertaining nonetheless.

I like this one:

The second album will be a lot better. We’ll have two songs on it.

A fairly rash prediction from Zodiac Mindwarp

and this one:

[UFO bassist] Pete Way gave me a cassette he'd made of Free. It blew me away from the opening notes.
I was writing songs for my first solo album at the time, and it was like I had to stop the car, get out,
set fire to the car, and get a new car...

I wouldn't take all those "quotes" as gospel....

Certainly a lot of dirt being slung around in all directions.  Sometimes I think 'tis gossip makes the world go 'round, not money.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Dave Ling is a respected music journalist and author, he writes for Classic Rock, Kerrang and Metal Hammer.  So its probably unlikley that he would put his name to some of these if they were untrue (cue lawsuits).

Love the Ian Paice quote about Blackmore suffering from Pre-Minstrel Tension !!!!

Re: Hours of fun - Rock star quotes - Including Joe !!

got home last night and remembered the back and forth between Courtney Love and Trent Reznor. lol It's funny because it looks like an inside joke where they conspired to try and boost each other's "career", as we all know there is no such thing as bad publicity. what wankers the both of them.

Ted Nugent is a total douchebag.

I disagree, didn't care much for Ted during the "loin cloth" era either, but Nuge has got to be one of the very best American guitar players ever. His qoutes are funny as hell, but he has  mellowed some what at 64, but he is still the Motor City Madman.
