Topic: Looking for something close to Joe's Candy Apple Blue

Wifey is as big a fan of Joe as I am, and is more than accommodating my guitar collecting habit - so when I showed her a pic of Joe's Candy Apple Blue, she loved it and said, "You should get one."

Well, wifey, you don't have to tell me THAT twice! wink

I know that my odds of acquiring one of the four (of course not counting Joe's personal one) is pretty much zero - so... How close can I get?

Not aware of any Gibson production model in that color - and doubt the Gibson Custom Shop will reproduce what was a limited edition... So, am I screwed? smile

Any helpful suggestions appreciated!!!

I would say you are correct getting one of the Joe B Candy Apple Blue models is unlikely since there are only a few. I know Gibson made a limited run of 25 sometime back because I have one i purchased from another Forum member. The one shown in the other response may be one of the 25. Good luck finding one

I still haven't figured out why Gibson hasn't done a run of Candy Apple Blue JB Studios.

.
That's a good question.....but then again we all wondered why they issued more of the "So called Limited " Gloss Top Gold L/Ps too...
Maybe the Candy Blue Paint costs too much money, But then again nothing surprises me anymore....as far as what Limited means..

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: Looking for something close to Joe's Candy Apple Blue

What a manufacture offing someting in a way that the customers want???  That would hurt their other sales.  Same reason the standards and the traditional pros have peach colored binding and hardware, because off white looks better you gotta pay for it!

Re: Looking for something close to Joe's Candy Apple Blue

+! they can't come too close to what they already have. That's partly why I think they stuck with JB Goldtops even though he's playing 'bursts now.

JB '59 Les Paul Standard Sunburst (not custom shop) priced around $1400 would be the HOT Ticket!
That, or a JB Korina V (not custom shop) at $1299...

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool
