...anyone?...anyone?...Bueller.....Bueller...
well I happened to luck into a front row ticket for the show tonight at the Embassy here, this is my 4th time seeing him at this Fort Wayne venue...and what a great show it was. The show was introduced by local radio legend Doc West (Rock104.com) and he commented how Joe has been a local favorite around here for 18 years, since the Bloodline days...then the lights dimmed and a classy older "pre-recorded" female version of "Back home again in Indiana" started the show, it was a classy move, the crowd loved it!! Joe soon strolled out in style with an accoustic in hand, sat down and proceeded into Seagull, Dislocated Boy, Driving Towards the Daylight and Woke Up Dreaming with Tal hand drumming at his side...(wearing a pink "I love boobies" shirt)...classic...
...The show then went full band electric with Slow Train and Dustbowl beginning...some other tracks to follow were If Heartaches were Nickels, Blues Deluxe, Look over yonder's wall, Django/Mountain Time, Sloe Gin and Just got Paid extended-version ended the encore. At one of Joe's guitar swaps tonight he strapped on a white Gibson SG that he said he just bought today in Fort Wayne at one of the downtown pawn shops...be on the look out for that one in upcoming shows??
I've seen Joe here in Fort Wayne since 2004...from Piere's to Rib-Fest to The Beautiful Embassy and though the shows have changed since, Joe's class and talent amaze me still, the show tonight was top-notch. I don't post very often because I still can't explain it in words!! It was just a great night!
Thx for the show info....Cool White SG....I hope Joe brings it to Youngstown Next Wednesday...:) Did he do Young Man Blues on it ???
Joe posted a photo of this guitar on twitter. it looks amazing.
If heartaches were nickels was done? that is very good news. Seems Joe may be changing up a few songs here and there for the fall tour. Mabey getting songs ready for London!
The white SG is a 62 special in unbelievable well kept shape. Never refretted, and a truss rod that had never been turned. Almost no fret wear either and not crack or gouge anywhere. Joe really scored with this one.
