Topic: BBE Wah arrived :-( video demo inside - feedback please

Hey folks,

The pedal arrived today. I just made this quick little video, 'cause I don't know what to think of the distorted sound. Is it getting "farty", is that still in the okay range...I played around with the harmony knob, to find out the position I left it for the video is the best.

The pros:
True bypass works great
No volume drop, no tone sucking - big wow here
LED
Harmony control works great
Turns on very softly
Nice sweep

The cons:
"Click" noise because the pedal touches the switch when toes are down
Distorted sound???

I can still switch to a Fulltone Clyde, but somehow my stomach says that my use of the wah is very subtle and few so I don't see the logic of the big investment....might change my mind.

Guys, please give me some feedback on the sound, I will take this video offline again tomorrow - will make a better one with the amp miked and maybe with a new wah?

I think the BBE Wah sounds too hi-fi in general...and I can hear that in the clean tone.
There's something a bit wrong in the distorted tone going on there...
Click (although not in gig conditions) is super annoying.

A nice Vox V848 Clyde will do me.

I have returned the BBE wah now and ordered a Fulltone Clyde.

i hope it works great for you!!!  i had a buddy that bought one of those things and he despised it and sold it after about a year of tinkering with it......and then the guy that bought it didnt like it and sold it again....lol.....they get rave reviews and lots of folks obviously get good tones out of them.....but my one experience with the clyde was not good.....good luck and once you get it do another video for us.

I have a BBE wah and love it. With the harmony control you can dial in tones that aren't overly shrill.

Funny how you had it 1 day and returned it...oh,well.

Unfortunately, no shop around had the BBE to test it out , so I had to order online, which I do not like. I mentioned many pros and in fact the BBE is a wonderful wah, but just doesn't match my personal expectation for dirty and fuzzed sounds. Was playing around with it for a couple of hours, changing the harmony control and also the signal chain. So yes, returning it after one day might make me look like an idiot, but it's just not made for me :-)

Didn't mean to sound judgemental at all. I've returned plenty of gear that I didn't like.
