Re: Kansas City - 11/2/12

Looks like quite the awesome show! And Joe changing things up a bit. Very cool! His comment and picture on twitter about his bobbleheads playing sloe gin is hilarious. I guess he knows people want to see something different every now and then. He has quite the sense of humor. Love it!

Re: Kansas City - 11/2/12

Hope to spend more time with the bonabuds before the show tonight! Lee, cant wait to see all the photos you got.

Re: Kansas City - 11/2/12

To describe the show, I will steal a line from Chuck Berry when I saw him in concert in 1970 something,

"It's a beautiful thing.............love and togetherness......"

Joe, this is the 3rd time I've seen you in the last 18 months.  You get better everytime!  Loved the Chuck Berry tunes, although
it would have been nice if Song of Yesterday had been left in.  Also, the change up on John Henry was AWESOME!

Re: Kansas City - 11/2/12

The changes in the show were great!

I sure missed "Happier Times" though.

Even still, there is NO better act in the business and would not have missed it for anything.

Hope he comes back again and again.....

Re: Kansas City - 11/2/12

My husband and I were very lucky to get added to the M&G list at the last minute due to a cancellation.  This was our first time to meet Joe and it was such a thrill!  He was warm and gracious.  With everyone, he truly personalized the experience...not easy to do night after night with so many strangers, I'm sure.  Wish the "official" photographer had snapped at least one more picture 'cause our one shot is extremely blurred...better luck next time, right?

This was our second concert of Joe's, having seen him in May in Springfield, MO.  Last night's show was so varied!  There was something there for anyone and everyone.  Going into the night, I was most looking forward to hearing him wind it up in the middle of Dislocated Boy.  So I was almost---almost!---disappointed.  But the acoustic version with Tal on congas was truly unreal!  I can't say how much I loved that song done that way!  Loved the Chuck Berry tunes.  Another highlight of the night for me was Mountain Time...I've heard that song a thousand times but last night's rendition was something special.  My husband and I both felt that Joe's vocals were particularly spot on last night.  Thanks so much, Joe, for another great show.  Your concerts become wonderful memories for the fans that love you and your music.

Re: Kansas City - 11/2/12

No question this show was a blast! Thanks for the reviews and pics.  Most of all, thanks for the brief sampling of some Chuck Berry. You had me confused. I didn't recognize the song. Now it all makes sense.   Cathy

Great, great article.

Re: Kansas City - 11/2/12

Thanks for posting the review Jim!  A great review for a great show!   Joe is a star!!
And the stories that Joe tells during shows about his "local walk-a-bouts" are so funny lol

Q.What's not to love about a Joe B show?
A.  Nothing, but that it comes to an end wink !

Thank you very much for the great US reviews. It's interesting to hear how Joe is changing things with the set. Can't wait till here brings it over to the UK next year!

Pretty much sums it up. I'm just happy that someone with writing skills can put into words exactly what I would like to say! I especially love the line, "the dirtiest, nastiest, sexiest version of "Look Over Yonder Wall" ever played." The version of that song Joe and the band are playing now is easily in my top five, probably top three, live songs I've ever seen Joe do, and that's a lot of songs.
