Topic: Frank Zappa 'Roxy' SG Coming Soon From Gibson Custom!

http://www.licklibrary.com/news/2012/10 … ototype_SG

The moment I saw this report, my immediate reaction was 'OH SWEET JESUS!'  and 'I NEED TO BUY A WHOLE LOT OF LOTTERY TICKETS!', because I want one but I don't think I'll have the cash, having just paid for a Robot LP Studio 2012.

Dweezil currently possesses the prototype and will be taking it out for a spin on the next US tour.

Guitars:
Epiphone Les Paul Junior Black + Gold Hardware, PRS SE Santana Yellow, Ovation Double-Neck Semi-Acoustic, Ovation Celebrity CC44 Honeyburst, Gibson 2008 Les Paul Standard Heritage Cherry Sunburst (#10), Gibson Robot Les Paul Studio 2012 Limited, Gibson 1976 Les Paul Custom Heritage Cherry Sunburst

Re: Frank Zappa 'Roxy' SG Coming Soon From Gibson Custom!

Not only is that a piece of gear I'd love to get my hands on, but it's great to see Frank get some recognition as a guitar player, his visceral style was really overlooked & underrated, he had this idea of emulating human speech when he played guitar, and he done it so freely and in the moment. I like hearing a guitarist and knowing that what he's playing right now is something he has never played before, instead of rehashing his interpreted licks in a different context.

Plus, with Frank's level of talent & intellect, he could of played like a traditional virtuoso if he wanted to, so clearly he had pretty original intentions regarding guitar soloing.

Cheers for posting, I want one too smile
