Topic: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

Hi All
Alan dropped off my new Triptik last night. I could not wait to get home from work today so I plugged in about 5:30pm and looking at my clock now it's 9:30pm. Four hours of pure tone heaven. Three channels of EL34 honey in one package. Forget pedels some slap back and echo in effects loop and your there. You have got to check out his web site for the sound clips. This thing is amazing.
Sorry no time for sound clips working all my free time on my record, except of course trying new gear. Yes I know I have G.A.S.
Cheers Ron

Wow, awesome.

With the newly redone Historic Makeover Goldtop it'll be a match made in sonic heaven.

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

I bought one this year as well. It's a special amp for sure.

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

Congrats!  Have new clips been created recently?  Tried going to the ca site the other night but it was down... Again.

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

I have one on order. Should be ready soon, I hope.

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

Congrats. I did a lot of demo listening (not a lot of EU dealers - we need to think of a way getting Allan back to UK smile ) and those are incredible amps. Definitely one of my next purchases - I am done with the guitar budget this year hmm

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

Yup! Gotta love the triptik.  A little delay in the loop and done!

Where the hell does one get a black-backed gold top anyway?

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

wharris/partial2marshall, have you guys put any clips online?

Thanks,
Jim

What cabs / speakers are you all using?

I tried it in a 2x12 EV12L and a 4x12 EX12L. Sounds great. I have not tried it in one of my Marshall 4x12 but my guess it will sound different. They usually do but not in a bad way it is up to the person listening.

I have  a Stone Age 2x12 with an EV12L and a Scholtz Classic. Great combo.

I have EV12L in Category 5 cabs and in Carol Ann cabs. I am always amazed how depending on the wood and construction how the same speakers can sound so different. I tell you I have many Carol Anns and they are so responsive and articulate and feel so warm under my fingers. They are diffently something in their own.

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

these sound quite great.  time to save.  I have been thinking about doing away with my Rocker 30, but it has become a bit of my "signature" sound as much as i can claim one, in the local scene.

I'm surprised you don't own a hand-wired version of the Evil Robot yet, Ron...?

I have enough gear ....for now or till the next G.A.S. attack. But seriously all the amps i have they all have a very different sound and most importantly feel when your playing. I have also found that when you record with them that's when you really hear the difference.

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

I've had my Triptik 50 for about a week now and I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best amp I've ever had the pleasure to play.
Clean, crunch, singing lead tone -- this amp has it all in spades. A more detailed review may follow whenever I find the time to drag myself away from this amp. In the meantime, do yourself a favour and play one. Better even, buy one.

Re: Carol Ann Triptik.....aw yeah EL34 heaven

I must say, that amp does sound interesting to me.  If I can ever sell my Orange (or convince myself that I should), the Triptik would definitely be an option!
