Topic: Any Chickenfoot love?

I'm really loving the new "Something Going Wrong" video on Planet Rock, prompted me to run out and pick up the rerelease this weekend. Love the new live tracks! These guys really seem to be enjoying themselves and are putting out some great music.

Chickenfoot do rock out.....I'm a Big Satch fan ......Have not  witnessed them live...but I do own their Cd's....and Vinyl ...:)

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: Any Chickenfoot love?

it's weird....i should LOVE this and i find myself having trouble getting into it very much....i own both albums and liked the first one better than the second.....i may be going thru a temporary sammy burnout period.

Re: Any Chickenfoot love?

Really glad to see Satch within the context of a rock band.  But to be honest, Sammy struggles with the vocals a bit these days.  But even past prime, it's pretty good stuff.

Gibson 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissue, Gibson LP Standard Faded CSB, Gibson Gary Moore LP Standard, Epi Joe Bonamassa GT LP, Epi Zakk Wylde LP, Dean Michael Schenker Flying V, Jackson Randy Rhoads V, ESP/LTD George Lynch Kamikaze, EVH Striped Series R/B/W, Fender/Squire John 5 Telecaster, Fender Joe Strummer Relic Telecaster

Some fan I am, I haven't gotten the latest album yet. First album is great. The song Turnin' Left is worth the whole price of the album. I saw them at one of their first shows at a small club in Seattle. (El Corazon, formerly Graceland) Blew the roof off the place!

My exact sentiments.  The first album's way better than the new one and I blame it all on poor lyrics and Sammy slippin'.

Re: Any Chickenfoot love?

Sammy just hit retirement age on Oct. 13th. Yep! The Red Rocker is 65!!!

I can 100% relate to what you posted. I do find Sammy to be a bit too much at times.

Re: Any Chickenfoot love?

I have the first Chickenfoot album, but cant get into it, me thinks I'm stuck in a 70s time warp roll .....oh by the way, Sammy just opened a bar or club of some type in my little town just last month.....Roseville is trying to revive "old town", and Sammys place is the keystone piece from what I hear.....I'll make it there one day, it's about 4 miles from my front door

Re: Any Chickenfoot love?

I like the first album a whole lot, and still listen to a few tracks from it pretty often.  Only heard the second album once or twice and didn't like ti as much but I still like the band.  Its' a great collection of musicians who seem to work really well with each other, compliment each other, and play off each others' strengths.

Tell me when Shred and I'll meet ya there!

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: Any Chickenfoot love?

I've seen it from one of those restoration shows on NatGeo or Discovery.  Someone made Sammy a novel tequila dispenser.  Looked like a pretty cool place and Sammy certainly has the energy of someone way younger than 65.  Rock on!

Sammy guest starred on History's American Restoration and Rick restored an old refrigerator into a rum dispenser dubbed the "Rumerator" for one of the new rum bars. Sammy's pretty good with his business ventures as if he needs more income, but hey, maybe it's what keeps him feelin' young! Spent yesterday with a lady friend who was @ The Cabo Wabo for Sammy's birthday and he had Kenney Chesney rockin' with him for 3 hours according to Karen.

You should read Sammy's book if you get a chance. It's a good read. I've read it twice and came away pretty impressed with him and his business acumen.

Re: Any Chickenfoot love?

I know a little about Sammy without reading his book, he watches his money like a man on his last nickel, he has made his son Aaron work extremely hard to earn his.

Up Next is a damn cool song...
I'm wishing for a new Them Crooked Vultures album/dates more than anything right now though...
Not a Hagar fan at all...
