Topic: Hello fellow Bonamassaphyles

I just thought I'd register here after stumbling across the forum in my search for reviews on the Ceriatone 2555 Jubilee clone. I've already found a gold mine of info regarding multi amp setup and delay use. I look forward to finding many more hidden gems and reading Joe's thoughts when he gets the chance to drop in.

I've just ordered the Ceriatone 2555 and now have an agonising few weeks to wait before I get my greedy hands upon it. I'm planning to run the 2555 and my Super 60 head into my quad cab to see if I can get some glorious tones out of them. Here's hoping I get what I want. smile

Hi and welcome to the forum. How about a full introduction on the introductions thread. Tell us about yourself, instruments (obviously a gear head) and how you found Joe's music. big_smile

Re: Hello fellow Bonamassaphyles

Thanks for the welcome. Where to start? I started playing at the age of 10 after watching 2 schoolmates playing at lunchtime. The girls were giving them plenty of attention and it suddenly dawned on me that that was my ticket to the pretty girls attention too. I learnt quickly and soon got obsessed with the instrument. I'm now 45 and have been playing daily since then. The young girls don't find me all that interesting anymore but that's life. smile

I've been a Strat lover for as long as I care to remember and now have a beautiful instrument that is my pride and joy. It's an 82 Rosewood neck with a custom made body carved from New Guinea walnut. The guitar was created by Chris Kinman who also used the same timber to create one for Bo Diddly and another for an old friend of mine who was touring with Bo at the time. It's recently been refretted with Jumbo frets and has had the wiring completely redone. It's been a long time coming and wow, what a difference it's made to the guitar. My current amp is a Fender Super 60 running into a quad cab loaded with Sammi ME300B100 speakers  However, I'm looking at going down the EV road after reading the gear pages here.

I've played professionally for many years in a variety of small time touring bands with the occasional memorable moment in the limelight. I played with Savage Garden briefly and recorded with Joe Camilleri at his Melbourne studio. Apart from that it's been a journey of ups and downs until my long suffering wife of 20 years fell pregnant with our 1st daughter. It was then that I realised it was time to get a real job. smile I was a school teacher for a few years but finally gave that away last year as a bad joke. I'm now a theatre orderly at our local hospital and play mostly for my own pleasure with the occasional gig with a local blues/rock band called Black Dog (no connection to Led Zep).

I 1st discovered Joe B a few years ago when the bass player in my band put me onto him. I was instantly taken with his ability to take the best bits of another fave player; Eric Johnson, and keep it interesting. Of course Joe's ability to take the piss out of himself is another reason I like him so much.

Gawd that was a lot....thanks to anyone who made it this far. smile

I made it, it is interesting, - and welcome, - you should find a friendly bunch in here and it looks like you have plenty of information and life experience to share.

Teaching is a tough gig, isn't it?  Welcome to the forum from another (soon to be former) teacher...   wink
