Re: Tone really is in the hands of the player.
I let lots of other people play my Strat but no one sounds even close to me.

If you're a good player with the chops that guy had, then all the wrinkles in the quality level of the guitar will melt away. We're not hearing (or feeling for that matter) the dead spots on the frets/fretboard perhaps? We're not grappling with the pots to find a sweet spot setting? In my experience, everything is just smoother, easier to manipulate, easier to tune etc. when moving up through the range of instruments in terms of value.
Having said that, I have to say I found some his playing a bit - well boring to be honest. Sorry guys, but the psuedo-jazz blues noodling thing ala Robben Ford and a host of others just doesn't cut it for me nowadays. That's why I love Joe's playing - it's got a real authenticity to it, largely down to his vibrato - something I've worked hard to improve in my playing. You don't get that feel when squeezing as many notes into a bar as you possibly can.

You are so right. Cheers Ron
I just played a gig last night with a Gibson SG,a Fender Blues Jr, and a 20 foot cable. I had to mic but I just turned everything up loud. I would say this rig cost around $1700 new, used you could get this rig for $1100. The club mic'd the amp so I didn't have to bring my own. You wanna play clean turn down the volume on the guitar, you wanna play dirty or solo turn up. Its that easy. The rest is in the hands. If you want you could go with a cheaper guitar and still get by easily. The point is don't get caught up in the hype that you have to spend a ton of money on tone.
Yes, the hand and the nagel aswell !! If you play with your all five fingers, you Will have définitiv , à lot of different sound coming out of your Guitar , playing piano help very much To be abel to play with all your finger not at the same connections bettwen each others.
