WOW! Thats a pretty big statement Ron.
Cool! So even nicer than your Sandy burst? I often think about selling stuff and buying a Historic and sending it there and just having basically one or 2 guitars. Can only play one at a time anyway..! My uncle has taught guitar for a LONG time and has played and owned it all. One of his students has a 58 Historic all done up by Kim with throwbacks in it. He said it was the nicest, crispest Les Paul he ever played. So I believe the hype surrounding Historic Makeovers.

Yes better than my Sandy. Althought I would never sell Sandy. I have many but my top five LP's today in this order that I have are
JB285HS, My custom Cin Butterscott LP, Sandy ,the custom one of a kind HS Lp I had built by a young local luther followed by my Paul Koseoff.
I was thinking the same thing send a real nice guitar to Kim at historic Makeovers and you get back a guitar you will never want to part with. I know it is a lot of cash but let me tell you it is worth it. Kim adds that certain MOJO that puts it over the top. JB285 has Throwbacks. They are unreal. In my opion what added the MOJO was the resetting of the neck, Brizillan fretboard and the larger truss rod.
Cheers Ron
All I can say is WOW. I wish these guys were around 10 years ago before I started a family, maybe when the kids are out of college 20 years or so from now and if Kim passes down the trade secrets to his kids or a partner maybe I too can have this little slice of heaven. When can we hear it???
I can second to that, would love to see and hear it in action.
Hi All
The final pic's of my reworked JB#285 that Kim of Historic Makeovers now JB#285 HM is below. i have had this for a few weeks and I honestly have to tell you if you can afford it this is the way to go. I got the full package and this guitar now has soooo much life to it I can't even describe. I am fortunate to own a few LP's and this is hands down my best because of the work that Kim put into it.
I have also included a link to Historic makeovers web site
Thanks for listening
cheers Ron

This is gorgeous, Ron. Lucky man!
WOW Ron...she looks great....now I want to send them one of my LP's..... ugh
She is a thing of beauty Ron, so happy for you. Too me guitars are much like artwork. And this one looks like a master piece. Play her with much love and tenderness
Ron, if Blue is no longer in the running...........
Ron, if Blue is no longer in the running...........
Oh no I love blue...you know how it works each guitar has it's own voice blue speaks her own mind. She is in my top four. Also depending on the mode things change. I am always amazed how each guitar has it's own little something and inspires one to play differently. Hey that is why one of the reason guitar is so popular, each means something different to everyone that picks one up even if it is the same guitar. It is all in the approach of the player and the talent in their fingers and what is pouring out of their heart.
Cheers I hope all is well
Ron
Does it sound any different?
Does it sound any different?
Sh##### yeah. the best way I can describe is it is more alive, resonates, sings. The touch under the fingers is awesome. Playing it without plugged it really sounds amazing then when in there Amp. Outstanding!!! I swear it is what he does when you get the full package that is neck reset, new bigger truss rod and the new pups ( Throback 101MV).
I am truly spoiled
Do you think these types of results can be achieved with a LP standard or something a little less pricey to start with than my JBLP? I may have to give them a call. I'd like to do an R-9 style LP without starting with one, since they're pretty high priced right out of the gate.

Here is my spin, what he does will make a good guitar sound great, make a great guitar sound incredible. Keep in mind the full treatment is about $4K so I would weigh that in your decision. Give him a call he will gladly talk to you about it. Tell him Ron said to call.
Cheers Ron
