Thanks oh yeah....santa can't come soon enough
That's looking seriously nice. I'm sure it'll be a treasure.
Maybe you can bring it to Vegas next Spring.

No not unless i buy it a seat on the plane. For it would absolutely be broken in cargo before I got there. Bringing it to Springfiled in a few weeks.
Spoke to Kim at Historic Makeovers this morning only waiting on 5ply pickgaurd and new pups. I was going to have him distress it but after seeing the pictures I am going to keep it as is. I will break it in myself. I plan on sending a few more JB LP's in a couple of months I will have him age those. I have updated below with pictures. I should have it in my hands within two weeks. I will keep you posted.
Cheers Ron

Uhh. Just to let you know . . . you are freaking me out by leaning that beauty against that ancient and rough looking concrete. Stop it!

It wasn't me I still have not received it from Kim. I am sure he is treating it with extreme care. Cheers Ron
Looking great!
Ron, # 285 is lookin cool....He does great work....no doubt about that ...will the other ones be aged exactly the same as this one ?
It looks great. Now they are ready to beat it up!

I am not having them beat this one up. I will take care of that. The next one they will distress it.
It appears to look ever so slightly aged, and basically worn in; is that correct? It definitely looks very elegant!

Yeah maybe slightly I will know for sure when I get it. Like I mentioned Kim is not going to age this one. I decided it looked so good that I will age it over the years of playing. I can't wait to hear the tone and do a comparison with another JB I have.
Cheers Ron

Yeah definitely. I mean aged as opposed to distressed which I would consider wear, tear, scratches, dings and dents. The Truss rod cover and hardware looks a little tarnished and weathered as it would be to replicate and older instrument that wasn't beat to crap. I like it a lot!

I have been playing this 285 makeover for about a week now and out of all the LP's I own this is by far the best. What Kim at HS did made it resonate so unbelievably it is unlike anything I have tried. The new bonding, truss rod and new Brizilan fretboard has taking this guitar to levels I have never even dreamed. I intend on sending more to Kim next year.
