Topic: Guitar Center Battle of the Blues Contest Finals.

Here are the vids I got of the six contestants. I don't have all the names, some I got part, some not at all. I'll post the vids in order of performance. As you will see, there were amp issues with the rig on the right. The players that plugged in on the left side stack were much louder.

3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny7Wulz3LeQ I only got the amp part, missed the acoustic on him.

Each contestant had about 3 minutes for amplified git and 3 for acoustic. Our young players can see the pitfalls of a timed contest and what can go wrong, as well as the proper approach. #2 was the clear winner in the opinion of the folks I talked to before the judges announced that he was the winner. He stuck to the plan which was to play blues and represent the style and passion of a true blues player. Maybe the barefoot hillbilly act worked in his favor. lol He was a veteran pro as well with a ton of stage experience and it showed.

Note to future contestants do a line check before you start. I felt so bad about the girl and the other guy that had silence for the first minute or so of their sets. I though they would let her have a do over.

Re: Guitar Center Battle of the Blues Contest Finals.

I can see 3 being the winner, but I think Id rather listen to 6 for a longer set.
