Topic: Hello new fan here

Hi, I have a few questions about Joe.
How long has he been around mainstream? Back about 3 months ago I was at my sisters house and was sleeping on the couch, I woke up around 1am turned the tv on and it was on the PBS channel. They were playing Joes show from the Beacon Theater.
I started watching midway through the first song and was hooked instantly and thought there isnt a BAD song from this guy.
Joe has been long awaited breath of fresh air for me, and cant wait to see hiim live. Iam a OTR truck driver and I know I can catch one of his shows in Miami florida I saw the signes on the highway of him going to be there Dec 31.
    Oh and when he has Beth out there with him , its magic good voice and attitued with flawless guitar playing WOW i cant wait.

Welcome aboard Shawn!  I'm sure Joe does not yet see himself as mainstream, but his growing recognition and success cannot be denied.  Get the whole back catalog and jam!

Glade you found Joe I suggest you get the DVD of Royal Albert Hall. Joe is awesome the best Blues guitar slinger on the planet and a very nice guy.

thanks guys, I play myself, payed in many bands over the years however its hard to find anyone to play anymore, its the same thing "im to old" lol hell i only played for the love of music and girls lol.<---i wont lie.
I did notice when I watch him I see alot of influinces , like Clapton, Page, King, and a few others but I must say, Joe has brought Blues back to a new life and if he does go mainstream I can see alot of people all aver differant types of music coming together to hear Joe, old and young.

Welcome to the forum. Joe has made it on his own, no mainstream help at all. Owns himself along with his partner lock, stock and barrel. You've come to the right place. Be sure and get your tickets now. He sells out most of his shows since he has a large fanbase. There's a large back catalog he's recorded in his career. Not a bad release in the bunch. You have it right, he's the best!

Oh while its on my mind, during Joes Show he brings out special guess to play a few song with him. I dont know if he has done this but can you imagine if he brought out someone that can play harp like Paul Butterfield, think about that for a minute. I think that would be awasum lol

Well, I did have the pleasure of seeing Joe bring out special guest harp player LD Miller in Chicago a few years back.  Not Paul, I know, but I too love the special guests from time to time.

Get the Royal Albert Hall dvd. Paul Jones is featured on harp. He's an old friend and long time supporter of Joe. Joe has frequent guest artists on tour but mostly other guitarists.

Will belatedly add my own "welcome".  You'll find all kinds of Joe fans here, from young talented guitar players in their own right to people who just appreciate good music and talented musicians.  We are all united by one thing though.  A penchant for "all things Joe".  Check in when you can, always enjoyable to hear from members of the Bonanation.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.
