Topic: My own 'goldie' Strat... well, not really... :)
It's been about a year in the making... slowly sourcing parts and bits from here and there, but this weekend, I finally managed to put together and complete my 'Gold Strat' project.
Sorry, this is nothing like Joe's Goldie, and in fact many might consider it gauche... but it was an experiment I wanted to try, plus the fact that I put the bits together with my own two hands...

I've always wanted a birdseye maple neck - and this one is OVERKILL!! Body is Swamp Ash in a Shoreline Gold finish.
Neck and body from Warmoth. Gold bridge from Killer Guitar Components. Other gold parts from all over the place. Pickups etc. are off an old Eric Johnson Strat which I bought from a member on TGP... Total build cost was around $1400 I think, but because it took so long I cannot actually remember the individual parts cost.
Only strung it up tonight and working through the setup. Sounds great so far. Got a connection issue with the neck pickup dropping out intermittently so I have to get the soldering iron back out again. But I had a lot of fun building it, and am having lots of fun playing it now!
