Topic: John Bonham's Birthday 5/31 RIP

A new radio station I've been listening to dedicated the day to John Bonham, so I've been having a Led Zeppelin kind of day!  I wouldn't normally pass this on, but with a 6 (lucky number) day countdown to the release of "You and Me" and Jason Bonham playing on the drums, I thought I'd pass around some good vibes about his dad, my favorite drummer from my favorite band of all time!

Here are some links.

Just picked up a cool book by Mick Bonham, who was John's brother and passed away at 49 years old.  "John Bonham - The Powerhouse Behind Led Zeppelin".

My favorite book- "The Stories Behind Every Song Led Zeppelin- Dazed and Confused by Chris Welch.

Another good book- "The Hammer of the Gods- The Led Zeppelin Saga" by Stephen Davis.

Long live Led Zeppelin music!!

Angela,
He isn't my avatar for nothing. smile Definitely the most rocking drummer of all time. I'm thinking of that ultimate band again. Imagine, if you will, him, Hendrix and Entwistle jamming together.

Re: John Bonham's Birthday 5/31 RIP

I CONFESS!!! I HAD to listen to Joe's "Tea For One" today and I just have to say wow, it's beyond the great comments I've heard here! I also just for kicks compared it to Led Zeppelin's form Presence one after the other (Zep's first)... their version is great but I think Joe's comes out better!!! It's VERY hypnotic and certainly I just don't fell any showing off took place, by Joe or the otehers...like Zep's it seems to be a cohesive group effort where no one goes overboard, perhaps in both cases (surely Joe's case) actually restrained articulate playing to get it "just so"...my opinions only.  Very surreal to listen to father and son too! Amazingly satisfying. Can't wait for the rest.
