Topic: And finally...the pedalboard lives...

I haven't posted in a long time, so I wanted to apologise (not that I need to but you know what I mean) for not being around. A number of reasons- I'm doing a lot of work in charity through rugby and so on....Anyway, after knowing many of you in the flesh and meeting up and stuff (Joe included, and honoured by that), I was jamming away tonight and picked up my Lester for the first time in ages and played some Joe.

I also was finishing my rig. Which is now officially finished. I am really proud of where I've got to, although I realise it's not to some's tastes, but what is amazing is I have got rid of all hum imaginable, and come up with a little idea of rack integrating an iPad for sampling, recording, playback of clicks or whatever, and also as an audio monitor....I reckon iPads and racks will become married in the future- so useful, especially with the RC3 plugged into both the iPad and the rig (the interface for the iPad is an Alesis IO Dock- £129.

Loads of things have changed, including a radical rethink of amplification, and also the purchase of an original early 70's Hiwatt, which rocks.

(The Class 5 head has the power stage bypassed, so I use the preamp ONLY as a kind of distortion pedal, switched off the rack)

Anyway, some pics of the rig. The second and third pics are the final rack and pedalboard layout.

Do you play live and if so, how much of this stuff do you heft around?

Re: And finally...the pedalboard lives...

Dave

Yes- just the Hiwatt and pedal board. The rest is fun.

Re: And finally...the pedalboard lives...

Killer... That's a whole lotta Cornish, power and mojo

Re: And finally...the pedalboard lives...

If that ain't pro, I don't know what is. Very cool Jakey! I have 2 of those class 5 heads I run in stereo, really like them through a 12" speaker. I thought from the reading portion you were going to have the class 5 head mounted in a rack unit. Why though are you using it as a distortion pedal instead of an actual pedal for distortion/boost/added gain?

Re: And finally...the pedalboard lives...

Hiwatt and a Black Strat....if you aren't a Pink Floyd fan I'll eat my hat..!!

Awesome rig either way, congrats!!

LOL a bit of fun. An experiment- I wanted to boost the leslie orignally. It works too. To a point. I am shoving it on eBay next week though. It's a patch lead to put it back to normal. £170 and it's yours.

Re: And finally...the pedalboard lives...

haha, well i already have 2 and also 2 combo versions so I certainly don't need another! You should keep it, mount in a small rack and do up a small pedal board tray that rolls out the bottom of the rack, get a 1x12 cab and use it all for a quick set-up, short set, or jam session gig rig!

Re: And finally...the pedalboard lives...

Man you sure like the cheap stuff don't you!  Gilmoure Black Strat $3500, Hiwatt half stack cost about the same I guess and Pete Cornish pedals are so cheap too at $300-$400 a pop.  Seriously though nice rig and I'm mostly dying for that Hiwatt amp you got there very nice!

Feel free. If you want it, price as above and I'll put it back to original.
