Re: Glenn Hughes talks about his new BCC3 rig.

So if he wanted the Hiwatt sound that he had with his custom built heads from years back, why not use those heads since he still has them? Maybe they're not as reliable as the new gear or are not replaceable if something goes wrong; understandable, but either way still cool. I guess they could be used in the studio but maybe for consistency he's using the Orange in studio and live. Looking forward to hearing some more.

My dad is a bass player and for a while I always thought all bass amps sounded the same. Takes a bit for your ear to recognize the differences, which is kind of a good way to further train your ears.

I've seen Glenn play with BCC three times from very close. He plays differently than other bassmen, uses a big pick and whanks it hard on the attack. He also has some pedals that do stuff. His bass has a very different tone than I've heard before. I never paid much attention to the rock bass players before, I know better now.

Maybe because he might be endorsed by Orange now...Laney contract run out?
Hearing Glenn play live...he has one of the highest on-stage volumes for any bass player I've heard...

Re: Glenn Hughes talks about his new BCC3 rig.

Yeah could be an endorsement deal. Didn't think of that. I like a loud bass player personally. If for nothing else, it provides us guitarists with an excuse to turn up more.. -S
