I've enjoyed the Pure blues pure nickel strings before. I love how they use round cores most people use hex which makes it easier to wind the string over. I stopped using them because they are kind of expensive to me. I'm cheap. What I really like is they claim because of the way they wrap and their process they offer more mass to their strings. I could definately tell a difference on my Strat. It was bigger louder but dark and warm sounding. They felt like a .005 gauge higher then they claimed they were. It was crazy.
There have been reports of a high incidence of dead strings in packs. I haven't run across that yet (been using them fir 3 years or so). I also really like the GHS Nickel Rockers (Eric Johnson). They are great sounding and feeling strings…seem to last a long time too.
They really do feel tighter.... Love them!!! Such a precise warm sound!
Hi all You should try Curt Mangan 11-48 or 11-52 pure nickel. These are the best strings I have ever tried. Cheers Ron

Will have to give them a burl!!
Stefan, you might want to give Pyramid Classics a whirl. Great strings, but pricey.
I used to play DR and EB Strings exclusively. I really liked the Pure Blues nickel wound as an alternative to Slinkys once in a while. I found guitars can get dull if you keep throwing the same set of strings on it... it's the weirdest thing.

You sure it just isn't your ears hearing something new as they are used to hearing the same strings being put on time after time?

Probably what it is!! It's a lead symptom of GAS!
If I hadn't just bought a house, I'd be treating my Gear Acquisition Syndrome big time.
