Topic: Hello from Saint Louis, Missouri (the House of Rock)

Hello This is Mark from the house of rock in st.louis. I don't know how I missed listening to Joe Bonamassa all of these 52 years. I think that I saw him play at one or more of the Eric Clapton Crossroads concerts and neglected to follow up on him. I thought some of his songs were by other artists..

Recently I had the good fortune to see Live at the Beacon on PBS.. What an awesome show!!! Not to mention the down to earth interviews. I was hooked as soon as i heard him playing in the subway. I would have tossed him a $20. The DVD and bluray are in my opinion the best concert i have ever seen.

I can't tell you how many times I was stressed out and listened to the Gary Moore cover of Midnight Blues and the tears would start pouring out. My first favorite song by Joe.

I tend to be very analytical when i hear a song. I usually think of better words for some of the lyrics or invision other changes to make the song better. This was the first time where i think every word note and playing style was PERFECT. Simply a stunning show by every member of the band and the guest stars.

The sad thing is, Joe is coming to st.louis and i went to get tickets the day they went on sale and was stunned at the ticket prices and selection. I havent been to a large venue in many years and cant justify 200.00 a ticket for middle of the road seats. I will have to be happy with the wonderful music I bought thru my local music store from my bud Walter Ray at CD warelhouse. He has met Joe and had good things to say.

Thanks for being the perfectionist you are... It shows. I missed seeing stevie ray vaughn and this was going to be my make up concert. Oh well. I have the Bluray and better seats that I could ever hope for.

Hi and welcome St Louis and sunset1. Glad you have finally seen the light. Midnight Blues is one of my favourite tracks. A fitting tribute to the late great Gary Moore. By the way you may wish to edit your post. It's live at the Beacon

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

(I took the liberty of fixing your Beacon typo.)

Welcome to the forum Mark. You relate that tickets were $200 each. It sounds like you got steered to a scalper site, a sore point in these waters. Ticket prices run about $70 to $85 plus the ripoff fees.

First of all, welcome!  big_smile

Following the link from the Tour Dates forum here (http://jbonamassa.com/tour-dates/), you get to this:

http://ev6.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce … 2&cgc=

Ticket prices range from $62-102 at the Fox (plus some "handling fees," I would imagine).  Don't buy from the re-sellers asking any more than that...

For what it's worth, I am seriously contemplating trying to catch both the KC and St. Louis shows this fall.  They're on a weekend (Friday in KC, Saturday in St. Louis), and I'd be able to be back home to Iowa in time to go to work on Monday morning!  I'm guessing the set list for the fall leg of the tour will be different from the shows I just saw in Omaha and Des Moines, since Driving Toward the Daylight will have been out for awhile by then and we're likely to see another song or two from that record being featured...

If it turns out I can make the St. Louis show, I'll drop you a PM and we can meet before the show for an adult beverage or two!  In the meantime, fasten your seatbelt and enjoy all this place has to offer!  wink
