Topic: Fresno - April 19

I'm late with posting, but it was an AMAZING show!!!!

Scott and I did the 3-hour drive from the Bay Area down to Fresno.  Stayed at the Radisson across the street from the theatre, and saw lots of Joe shirts in the hotel.  Can I just say that Fresno people know how to rock!!!  Nobody left early, and the crowd REALLY got into it!

Lots of newbies in the audience that I talked to.  They were dancing in their seats after a few songs in.  The ushers as well.  Spoke to people after the show, and they were so up and wondering when they could see him again.  This was my 8th time seeing Joe.  When I said that before the show people looked at me kind of funny.  After the show, they came up to me and were in complete understanding smile

The band had to rush out to get to Reno for the next night, but there was a small crowd near the bus.  The whole band signed a guitar for one guy.  I ran into the guy at the hotel bar later on, showing off his Les Paul with all the signatures.  It was real nice!

Set list was pretty much same as LA, but there was a "Band" song in the encore because we'd just found out that day we'd lost Levon Helm.  Joe said a few words about him.  Very sweet.

Thanks Lisa, that's the first I'd heard that Joe acknowledged Levon's passing. Last night was Letterman's first live show since Levon passed and Paul & the band played Levon's songs at each break. In fact the last time I saw Levon was on Late Night.

Thanks for the review Lisa. We were there for the last show at the Fox (cool old theater) and the crowd then were mostly still in the lobby drinking when the show started. lol I guess they learned their lesson. I'm sure getting fired up for our turn soon! That is very cool that they did a tribute. Do you remember which song it was?

From the setlist I saw posted it was Ophelia.

Re: Fresno - April 19

that is so very cool of Joe to acknowledge Levon's work, and include a song no less. Any way somebody got a vid on that?

found one only, not a good view but the sound isn't too bad. Brings back a lot of memories, thank you Joe.
