Topic: Nottingham guitar tone

Hi, I recently went to see Joe at Nottingham Arena UK and Joe played a black LP for one song ( not sure of the song name) He was using the neck pup...My question is anyone know what neck pup is in that black LP ? It was an awesome tone........a sort of Greeny clarity...any advice would be much appreciated. The gig was great !!

Might be Midnight Blues....using a 'Candy apple blue' Les Paul ... Burstbucker I think but don't hold me to any of that lol

Re: Nottingham guitar tone

One of Joe's Bonabursts was redone in black by Kim Lafleur. Could be that one.

Gibson Custom Joe Bonamassa Ltd Signature Les Paul VOS # 31

Yessir, used to be a burst.

Re: Nottingham guitar tone

Yes that's the Bonaburst #52 which now is black. He was using both pickups not only the neck one and as they are connected out of phase it sounds great ( P.Green, G.Moore kinda sound). As for the pickups, real P.A.F in the bridge and Bursbucker in the neck position.

That's Brilliant Guys !...A BIG thanks for all who responded. Guess I now have to do some tweaking to my R9 neck burst pup ....must say it is a monster tone that Joe gets! cheers, Trev
