Topic: Birmingham NIA 31st March 2012

Set List (as best I can remember!)

Slow Train
Last Kiss
Midnight Blues
Dust Bowl
Who's Been Talkin'
Sloe Gin
Ballad of John Henry
Lonesome Road Blues
Further On Up The Road (with Bernie Marsden)
Blues Deluxe (with Bernie Marsden)
Song Of Yesterday
Young Man Blues
Woke Up Dreaming
Mountain Time

Driving Into The Daylight
Just Got Paid

(No Bird On The Wire but still 2 hours 20min ish)

Sat 4 rows from the stage and the sound was spot on. Best yet for me. Joe's guitar sound/tone was so poweful and, from where I was, you could feel every note he played.

Mountain Time was applauded at the end with so much warmth it made you feel proud.

Bernie Marsden came on for two songs and Joe commented that he loves to have him play 'cos he lends Joe his Les Paul for the show! Looked like a lot of respect between them, and with the band as well.

Tal spats with Joe were good fun.

New song was excellent, hope that Who's Been Talkin' gets on to the new album as well.

Look forward to the new release with great anticipation, should be a hit! LOL

So that's 6 times now and not one has disappointed.

Just one thing Joe, any chance of a live CD of the Beacon DVD?

Nice pictures, nice review.  I love reading a review where the author obviously "gets it."  By "it" the whole Joe concert experience.  He basically nailed the fact that you can be 1 of 5000 at one of Joe's shows and feel like he is playing just for you in your living room at home - and yet feel a part of the collective whole.

"There's a lot of people that are in so much of a hurry to be, I guess, to be famous or that they don't want to take the time to learn to play and do all that. They'd rather just knock it down off a computer and maybe get on a game show and get famous..That's fine if that's what you want to do.
"We're more old school than that. We like creating the sounds."  - Tom Petty

I am probably sitting behind you on the fifth row at Block B (Centre). Awesome gig indeed!
