You said that you're very grateful. big_smile

What great news, Rocket! I'll add you to the list.

Some thoughts about this lunch meet-up.

Depending on where you all will be staying, ask yourselves this - do you want to go back to your hotel that afternoon before the show starts at 19:30? If yes, you may wish to eat earlier. If not necessarily, you may wish to eat later. I don't imagine that anyone will need a dinner just before the show after an extended afternoon meal. Whether or not a scenic stroll through imperial Vienna (as I said, all very close to the restaurant) will sound like a good idea at the time, may depend largely on the weather. 'Normal' July weather in Vienna would be sunshine and temperatures in the 25-30c range (mid 70's - mid 80's), but you never know. wink

I should also point out that the world famous Hotel Sacher, home of the equally world famous and utterly delicious Viennese specialty, the 'Sacher Torte' (google it if you don't  know it,) is located right behind the Opera and within our expected post meal operating parameters. tongue

I didn't suggest 12:30 - 13:00 for any particular reason, except that it's a standard Viennese lunchtime. I was not planning on checking people off a list, and then holding a speech once everyone was in attendance! big_smile I'd like to maybe hear from one or two more people other than Guenter and Glyn/Jo regarding the time before we decide to shift to much later.

This is meant to be a casual, relaxed gathering. It's not an etched in stone booking. Nothing will go wrong if someone shows up later! As far as I'm concerned, there is no reason why those who are happy with say, 13:00, shouldn't turn up then, and others who would rather come later just turn up when it suits them. I'm sure that at some point, everyone who wants to be there, will be there. We don't all have to be there all of the time. As far as I'm aware, my cousin won't throw us out at any given time if we just want to sit around and talk Bona stuff with new and old Bonabuds, but I will double check on that. wink

Hi, we're happy with 12:30/13:00 and unless advised otherwise will endeavor to arrive around these times. Our only problem is not knowing anyone so hopefully there will be some indicator of where you all are seated, otherwise I'll be forced to shout "Bonamassa!" in the hope of a reaction. Please don't put me through this!

Again, thanks for the invitation and we look forward to meeting you all.

Please don't worry! The courtyard where we'll be sitting should just about be full up with the 30+ of us. I imagine that they will  put tables together so that it's one long row. There might not even be any other diners out there, so you will no way be able to 'miss' our crew. I certainly don't know everyone either, but I'm afraid we won't have the time in Vienna to create personalized badges like Wooders made for the RAH.

Cathy and I suggest that everyone who has a 'Bonawho' badge wears it for easy identification to those of you who don't know anyone else. Above all, please do not worry, it'll be fine! wink

As far as I know, you two, Cathy and Rocket. Then there's a pretty massive UK contingent too.

Listen up - we've been asked to put our time back to 14:00 so that they don't have to turn their usual lunchtime business away from using the courtyard outside.

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

- who is tweeting this meeting so those of not there can get to see instant pictures?

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

As a non-tweeter, this never even occurred to me! I believe that Rocket travels with an ipad, though I'm almost 100% certain that he's not a tweeter either. As it happens, I do have an account basically just to follow Joe's and Ryan's tweets, though I tend to forget about it most of the time unless someone tells me to go look. I've never actually tweeted myself *blush* My previous generation phone is also not set up for that, though it could be.

I'm sure that someone else there is bound to be an active tweeter, so maybe we could actually send some pics out? Thoughts anyone, or is this just plain silly?

Hi All
For those of you going to the acoustic shows please take pictures especially when you see a Chet Atkins Classical electric in Joe's hands. That is a guitar I gave Joe and would love to have a picture of him playing it.
Thanks in advance Ron

I can't speak for any of the other shows, but I'm sure that several of us in Vienna will be snapping away or filming as much as possible. Maybe we can arrange some sort of filming roster at lunch so that between us we capture as much of the show as possible - if that's ok with Joe in view of the intended dvd recording. I'll try and get an answer about this from the office..........

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Starting our trip to Vienna tomorrow. Maidenhead for a couple of days with friends, then Zurich, Salzburg and Vienna. Not our usual type of holiday but so excited.

Looking forward to making some new Bonabuddies. Have a safe journey all you travelling people............Glyn.
