Topic: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Only a couple of weeks to go before I head off to Blackpool, to see the show Joe had to cancel last year. Can't wait

I heard Joe yesterday being interviewed on Planet Rock, and a couple of things stood out for me. Firstly the new album is about to be released, and he was really pleased about the DVD of the New York gig. BUT he mentioned that he was going to do a few dates in Europe extra this summer, but doing instrumental stuff. He mentioned playing the Vienna Opera House as well as Montreux Jazz Festival. How does a person grab some of these tickets, as I could do with half a dozen for Austria.

Will the dates be announced on the site at some stage????

Doc. Have witnessed some of the very best including Clapton, Beck, Santana, Gilmour, Slick, Ronson, Stevie Ray, Prince, Slash, but in awe of JB's talent

Thanks Brack. I mentioned instrumental, but did I hear that correct, as I got the impression it would be acoustic (Unplugged) type stuff. Another album and DVD off the back of it

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

You heard right with some orchestral backing, as he said 'only the mike will be plugged in'.

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

I'd love an unplugged album & DVD/Blu-ray!!! Even though I just received the Beacon Blu-ray... Gotta love Joe & his quick releases. Wish every artist was this prolific.

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

I'm so excited to hear the acoustic arrangements.  I love it when someone can change up and rearrange their own classics.

I wonder if he needs a flute player ...

Gaze at that hole in the schedule between 4/5 and 4/17. Check booking dates for the Vienna Opera House and you'll be in the ballpark. Oh to tread the boards where the gods of music have walked...

I think it's more like late June - early July. Joe has a couple dates in France in that time period that are not on the tour page.

I'm assuming Joe's show will be part of the Vienna Jazz Festival. If so, it looks like an opening on the 3rd of July (as of the time of this posting):

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Wow! An acoustic "live" album. I guess I can scratch that off my wish list. Would love to be present for this event, but the follow up CD or DVD will do just fine.
