There is so many roads ..... but in just one month I'll take the road to Vienna for the acoustic show. Nice hotel booked near the Opera. My only problem is that I've sent the photo consent form to Rachael by mail, but she does'nt reply ..... No way by fax, the number is no good from Italy.
Anyway, it's gonna be great ! smile

If you're serious....Cathy and I are still waiting to hear from Eva, and depending on what she and her mom want to do, we will either fly to Vienna, or Plan B cool the scenic drive. If you're interested, you could fly into Amsterdam in time to join us for Jim Suhler in Belgium on the 29th, sleep in Belgium, then drive with us to Nuernberg via Luxemburg on the 30th, then on to Vienna on the 1st. Mail me if there's a serious chance of you coming, we'd love to see you! wink I'm sure that Guenter and Eva feel likewise!

Been serious from the git-go.  Only haven't decided how many lanterns they'll have to hang in the Old North Sea church, or where the Duh-Day landing will take place, or how many stamps will the passport get, and how many decimated dollars will have suffered in the aftermath...very intent on sight-screening on the cheap!

Mail me with your thoughts. Just spoke to Eva and apparently there are cheap flights from Nuernberg to Vienna, which adds another option - we could drive from here to Eva and Guenter, leave the car there and fly to Vienna, then pick it up when we fly back. Or, we could do the whole trip by car, sharing expenses. Plenty to talk about. Let's do this. cool

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

My wife just asked me the strangest question and I had no answer.

Why is Joe playing the acoustic shows?

We are happy and grateful for the shows and have moved heaven and earth to be there, but why now?

Updated to include Pete......I make that 30 so far, quite a gathering! cool

I'll post details when we get a bit closer - it's in the Josefstädterstraße, at the end closest to the Ring.

Glyn/Jo/Heidi - despite what it may have looked like, most of 'us' at the Cocoon had met one another for the first time that day, or the day before at Dingwall's!

Rocket - still awaiting your input re: travel plans. Please let me know if you're interested in traveling with us via Jim Suhler on the 29th (you'd need to book a room for that night in Belgium, I have details) to Eva's, and then on to Vienna.

Tobias - still waiting to hear from you about the lunch.

Pete - added to list. wink

XLK9 - we can't keep calling you 'XLK9' big_smile - name please?

Yvonne/Tamas - keep at  the office for your photo passes, send reminders!

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

John.  Not very distinctive I am afraid.  Wife is Pam, also big fan.

We are looking forward to lunch.  We are using this show as an excuse for driving tour of Germany, Austria, and Prague.

I received a reply already - bad news... sad

"Hi Tamas,
Since this is a special event, we will not have any photo passes for this show. sorry

Thanks,

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Here is an announcement for all the Euro acoustic shows -

There will be no official M&G's

We might all have wished differently, but there it is. Joe will be rehearsing (extra) during those usual M&G times before a show. We have to respect his decision. Anyway, hanging around stage doors is not so bad in the summer. big_smile

Looks like those of you who are avid photographers will have to take your smallest camera, or even use your phones. Again, it is what it is.

Well it is unfortunate but what to do... we can still enjoy the show smile

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Hi. Amsterhammer. Whats the latest on the lunch meet. We have got a morning half day tour booked so maybe wont be able to get there bye 12.00. Wont be much later though.

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

I suggest that we gather for lunch at 12:30-13:00. Please make yourselves heard if this time is not good for you.

Restaurant Marienhof
Josefstädterstraße 9
1080 Wien (8. Bezirk - Josefstadt)
Tel. 01 4088905-30

Any desk at any hotel will be able to tell you how to get there. Anywhere in Vienna is easily accessible by public transport. As I mentioned before, the restaurant is a leisurely 20 minutes (or so) walk from the Opera, through some of the most monumental sights of old imperial Habsburg Vienna.  A group walk through Vienna is a mere suggestion on my part, nothing is etched in stone, and of course, everyone is free to do whatever after our blow out lunch. wink

My hotel is just round the corner. I would prefer 14:00.
