Tickets arrived today!

Row 2 left.

Is anyone from the U.S. Contemplating going?

Cathy is coming, but will be flying here to Amsterdam, not straight to Vienna. They were ultra efficient with the tickets, ours arrived yesterday by registered mail.

Amidst all the other excitement going on, this is shaping up to be a pretty good sized meeting of Bonabuds! Apart from you two who are not yet 'known' to the rest of us XLK, I have privately counted 13 others who have confirmed either here, or privately, or on FB! cool I won't start a head count till everyone is out of the closet, so to speak. wink

That's a pretty substantial number for such an unusual venue - but fear not, we'll all be able to easily meet up because my cousin has a very good restaurant where we can meet at least once for a meal - let me just reinforce the point that visiting Vienna means gastronomic heaven. Eating, 'good' eating, is a very important business in Vienna. Yes, I'll be happy to play food and tourist guide, as required. wink

Xtra large k9's do enjoy good eating.  Sounds great.

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Just got two.( I think ) And thought we wouldn`t get to see Joe for over a year after Birmingham.

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

So far I could resist to press the button.
One seated concert a year is enough.

To quote the Borg, "Resistance is futile". Get a ticket in the last row and stand Eva. lol

If the ushers object, claim a medical condition that makes remaining seated excruciatingly painful. wink

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Funny you should say that, Rick. There is a long standing tradition at the Vienna State Opera (to give it its proper title) of providing standing room at the back for those unable to afford seats that have always been expensive - this goes back to the 19th century.

Of course, I'm referring to operas. I have no idea how different things might be under the aegis of the Vienna Jazz Festival using the opera house as a non-classical venue. In any event, there is a standing room area at the back, so I can't imagine why it wouldn't be possible to stand there.

Yesterday there was announced that Joe Bonamassa is playing in Zabrze, Poland on July 5th an acoustic show.
It is said that there be only 5 acoustic shows this summer in Europe. And the man himself has chosen Poland as he loves Polish audience. I'm so glad!

6 shows - Montreaux, Toulouse, Lyon, Vienna, Zabrze, Rotterdam.

Looks like there's  a show on 7 July at Mainz, Germany

That's nearer than Vienna and it's on a Saturday.
Anybody who has some details what kind of show to expect?
Is it only Joe playing acoustic or is it Joe & Band?

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Joe will be playing with:
Gerry O’Connor - Mandolin, violins and Irish Banjo.
Mats Wester - Harp
Arlan Schierbaum - accordion and two other instruments but I don't know how to call them in English ( Don't even know how they look)...

And there will be African drummer but his name is not known yet.

This is info that I've found on Polish show announcement site.

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Thanx for the info! I took a look at the tourdates. Nothing about this accustic tour so far. Tix are allready on sale!!
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??? Everybody here is informing eachother, but from the Joe management there's silence!! This is something that needs to be announced with PROUD!!!

Yeah, we get some marketing newsletter instead.
If it's announced officially I start thinking about it. If the tickets are sold out then ... bad luck.
Though sounds interesting.

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

Having already applied for tickets for the Vienna concert. It would be nice to have some confirmation from the management. Travel/hotels to arrange.

Re: Vienna (meet details - time change!)

They sold me tickets, got them last week.

J&R are so great at promotion, there must be a sound reason for the delay.
