Back from Joe´s Munich show: first class, high intensity, and as dessert we got Beth Hart (who had her own show in another venue) for two songs. Joe, his band and Beth Hart: that´s Rock´n´Roll Heaven.

What luck! I'll leave it to those there to fill us in.

Re: Munich

Yes it was Rock´n ´Roll heaven !!!!! It was a unbelievable moment as Beth Hart entered the stage !!!

Re: Munich

Yes, we were extremely lucky. As you might know I was speculating that Beth would appear because she was playing her own show in Munich the same time, but I didn´t really believe that it would happen. But as Joe is playing relatively long shows and Beth was only playing 90 minutes it did happen.

Joe´s show was perfect. Of course you know all the songs he´s playing, but he does it different each time. And the band is steaming - not only with "Slow Train", their first song. Here´s the complete set list.
Slow Train
Last Kiss
Midnight Blues
Dust Bowl
You Better Watch Yourself
Sloe Gin
John Henry
Lonesome Road Blues
Song of Yesterday
Steal Your Heart Away
Blues Deluxe
Young Man´s Blues
Woke Up Dreaming
Mountain Time

Encore with Beth Hart:
I´ll Take Care of You
For My Friend

Joe´s show was already most intense, but Beth was lifting it to still another level. Well, the music year is still young but I´m sure this will be one of my highlights.

Song of Yesterday

OMG, I was about to ask him to play it in Prague but I guessed it was unfair as it's a BCC song...

Re: Munich

Thanks for the report and welcome Blues King. This is what keeps us fans coming back. I see whining about the set list being the same. No way. In my experience, even the same set list is mixed up with variations at each show, then Joe brings in a surprise guest and blows your mind. How cool was that. Never a dull moment when the master takes the stage. cool

Re: Munich

That is a big hope for his outing in Sheffield. A great song. I'd love it if he did but I love all his stuff anyway so it's not a massive problem to have is it. Some of the new material would also be ace, probably a bit early for that though.

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Munich

I can only agree with Guenther, the intesity of the Show was unbelievible, an almost unreal experience. And as if this was not enough, they managed to bring in Beth Hart from another venue in Munich for the encore.

My Highlights were:

  • John Henry - The song that most likely would have become a Hit Single :-))

  • Song of Yesterday

  • Mountain Time - i missed it a lot.....

  • Beth Hart

Re: Munich

It was my 6th concert in Munich i saw Joe and this was the most intensive one. joe blows mind, he had more power than ever and he played more fast "parts" on soloing than the last times.

My favorites of this show were:

- midnight blues (unbelievable, what a tension and sensibility )
- song of yesterday

and of course:Beth Hart..........

I have seen hundreds of concerts my live and yesterday it was the best................

Re: Munich

Blackpool soon,Joe,keep Song Of Yesterday in!!!

Come on you Blades!

Re: Munich

A show with no 'Just got paid'??? Unbelievable!

Thanks for the setlist, Guenter. I know that Eva has some film and I'm sure she'll post the link as soon as it's available.

Ha Ha, that's what I was just thinking big_smile  Somehow I don't think she'll be a surprise guest in Pittburgh, I can dream.

Neither show at the Beacon last November had JGP in the set list. And the first night also had no WUD or Sloe Gin.

Re: Munich

nice for those who have been to the muffathalle, not so funny for the ones who have been at the beth hart concert, like me. she was perfect but only played 100 minutes then she had to join mr bonamassa. bravo.

Re: Munich

So great to hear the shows are flowing. I love the set lists! I do wonder how you can stand for the last song without JGP??? lol   But, what a bonus to have Beth Hart for an encore!!?? Thanks for the reviews. Welcome aboard the Bona-train Blues-King!    Guenter...I miss you!!      Cathy

Sorry for you, Thomas, but Beth wouldn´t have played longer anyhow. At least Eva told her that our common Nürnberg friend will be very angry now.

Well, he could have played JGP with Beth as a third encore.

Re: Munich

I can't blame Joe and Beth for grabbing a chance to promote the new album and give the fans a treat. I'd pay extra to see them together.
