Topic: Old guy looking foward to Joe's show in Blue Springs MO

Really looking forward to his show.  I am old and have seen many of the greats (missed Hendrix) including early Clapton with Cream, Allman Brothers with Duane, etc.  Joe is right up there with them IMHO.  Recently saw a great show with Gov't Mule.  I think Warren Haynes is another great musician.

randyb,
I am in total agreement about Joe being right up there with the all-time greats. I believe that if Joe had been born 25-30 years earlier and had come on the scene in the Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Allman era of guitar greatness the name Bonamassa would be included among them. Warren Haynes is another awesome guitarist and a guy that I believe Joe has called one of his biggest influences and close friends.

They are awesome.  One of the cool things about them is that almost all of their concerts are on website for a download price of 12.95.  The quality is excellent and it is a way to permanently remember the concert.  I wish Joe. B would do it.

Joe may not do that yet, but I certainly think it would be possible if his career continues to flourish.

Thankfully, Joe allows tapers like myself to record concerts.  There are many bootlegs of shows that are of high quality and very listenable.

Tolerable is more like it. I'd pay a few bucks for a soundboard copy.

Re: Old guy looking foward to Joe's show in Blue Springs MO

Just got back from seeing Joe Bonamassa play here in KC at the Trouser Mouse in Blue Springs, MO. It was a last minute show, so there were only 220 people there. It was like having a private performance....!!!!

Anyways.... Joe rocked as usual, and he was funny as hell. Great sense of humor. After the concert he threw out his signature picks issued by Budda amps. Managed to get one.

My only complaint... he walked straight in, played, and walked straight out. Did'nt spend much time talking to the fans. But I'm sure this has caused problems in the past.

Great performance....!

What did you think of the guy that interupted Joe's solo...?  I thought it was kind of disrespectful, but at least Joe had a good sense of humor about it.

Joe stayed to 'meet & greet' till almost EVERYONE had left the venue. Signed both inside & outside. The guy that interrupted the solo was humorous, but disrespectful. There's one at EVERY show. Joe handled it with poise, as usual.
You ALL should have been there for the sound check. Joe & the band NAILED
"WHITE ROOM".
Hope to hear MORE of that.
SPECTACULAR !

what the hell was up with those people?  or was it just me?  was i just one of the few that went to actually HEAR joe?

i was very impressed with joe and i can't wait to hear him in july at the market!

It was a horrible crowd....

About 20% of the audience were very noisy & very uninterested in Joe.  I think that's why Joe did the little speech about part of the audience not giving a #### who Joe Bonamassa is.  You gotta love his sense of humor.

It got so bad, I actually went over to the table next to me, during Joe's acoustic part, & told them I could'nt hear Joe over them.  I was polite as hell, but the table still was offended.  I finally told them that I paid $30.00 to hear Joe, not their freakin jaw jacking.

Bottom line..... IF YOU WANT TO TALK AT A BAR, GO TO FREAKIN TANNERS!!!!!  Let the music lovers listen to the music!!!!

Just my 2 cents.

Boda,

I totally agree about the crowd.  I was very disappointed in some of the crowd, but Joe was great.  I really wish I could do more to make this guy as popular as he deserves.  Great singer, guitarist and a great sense of humor.  I wish I would have known he was coming back out and meeting people after the show.  Pretty damn nice considering the crowd.

Re: Old guy looking foward to Joe's show in Blue Springs MO

i was at the show and yes i got tired of the jaw jackers too during joes acoustic set..

the place was packed full, i cant imagine any more people fitting in there, i was by the sound man and this one guy whined about it being too loud to the soundman, which it was not, my ears did not ring at all later on...

my only complaint was the bass tone was muddy, though the bass player is very good...

overall a very good set by joe and his rhythm section and i love how joe incorporates bits of classic rock songs into his songs!

joe does volume swells better than anyone i have ever seen and for those of you that play les pauls you know it is very hard to do!    jcs
