Just heard as well and of course it was drugs and the POS she married. What a monumental waste of pure talent. Forty-eight ain't old. RIP Whitney.
What a voice.
On the eve of the Grammy Awards, which she won 6 of, what an exit. Pretty sad end to a brilliant talent ruined by wrong choices. Only info so far was she was found at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

A sad loss. Her voice was divine. Shocking!

Many a slow dance I danced to her songs back in the day.
Sad if you have to pass away lonely in a hotel room.
Light, shade & tragedy of a world star.
R.I.P. Whitney Houston
Sad news, waking up this Sunday morning.
Whitney's demons have caught up with her.
One of the greats of her generation - and only 48 - RIP
R.I.P Whitney Houston.
Lets not rush to judgement about the drug issue visa vie Bobby Brown. They haven't been together for awhile.. What a tragic end and such a waste of talent and another bright light silenced. A very sad day indeed.

RIP Whitney
RIP Whitney, 48 is far too young.
A beautiful voice.....no one will ever compare to her singing of the national anthem, what a glorius moment in time... Whitney Houston......she is someone's mother, someone's daughter, someone's niece, someone's God-daughter, someone's cousin, someone's friend.....God Speed Whitney ♥

Most pure and perfect female voice ever. The power, tone and natural vibrato still gives me goosebumps 20 years later. Too much time wasted. Tragic loss.
Whitney's music was not my music, but I still have to say, what a voice! Hers was without question the all-time greatest rendition of our national anthem. I was frozen in place when I heard it, mesmerized. Seeing a clip yesterday, it has lost none of its power.
Sadly, such an exquisite songbird fell to earth all too soon. In this day of autotune and American Idol wailing, it's doubly sad to see that she could not control her demons. Addiction is so destructive, not only to the person afflicted with it, but to those whose lives that person touches. Whitney touched millions.
RIP, Whitney.
Thanks Joe, for speaking up. Speculation was that she fell asleep in the tub? and maybe drowned?
NO illicit drugs found in the room, last I heard...
RIP

If you can trust TMZ reporting the coroner said there wasn't enough water found in her lungs to have drowned. A mixture of prescription meds and alcohol are the suspected cause. They also reported security had to enter her daughters room the day before when she didn't answer calls and she was found asleep in the bath tub.

Very sad. What a voice! Those Gospel roots were apparent. I have to say this saddens me more due to obvious signs of trouble, as recent as last week, yet nobody intervened. I know that I don't know all the facts. I'll wait for the official report, but I can't help feeling this is another wasted life..and talent. My heart goes out to her family. RIP indeed. Cathy
