Topic: Joe's Big Guitar & Amp Garage Sale ... ???

I've seen Joe's posts on Facebook over the past day or so mentioning that he is preparing for a big 'garage sale' of some of his gear...

Anyone know any details about it?  It is going to be an auction style situation?  Any chance of overseas gear heads having a tiny chance to buy some of the gear?

I would hate to miss out if it was a 'site visit' type sale.  It would be so cool to pick up one of Joe's guitars or amps.

All will be auctioned with the proceeds going to benefit Joe's favorite charity. big_smile

That's awesome! Any word on whether it'll be international?

Sorry but I think Spider is joking a bit about the auction. Joe is just making a little room in the storage facility. No big auction is happening.

Re: Joe's Big Guitar & Amp Garage Sale ... ???

Yeah the purpose of the Garage sale is to really thin the herd so to speak.   I have been collecting for so long that I am now faced with 4 storage lockers full of stuff that I rarely play.  I was meant to do this last year but couldn't be bothered LOL... This year I decided it was time... None of the guitars you normally associate with me are on the block..  Its just stuff... You know like a Garage Sale...

One man's stuff is another man's treasure.

It sounds like a marketing opportunity to me. Pick out some choice gear and get in touch with some of the Reality TV shows like, American Pickers, Auction Hunters or whatever and get some exposure. Reality love to have celebrity appearances.

Take care,
Bill

Thats a really good idea, they featured Jack White on this week's episode, buying one of the stranger items they picked, an elephant's head.

That would be so cool to see them picking through Joe's gear

Jim is correct. I was joking but it doesn't seem so funny now. Something I don't say very often, I'm sorry if it caused anyone any grief.

Better yet! Joe’s own reality show, (Blues Traveler) Since Joe is already traveling around the world performing. Joe could explore the history of the blues teaching us about its roots, gear venues and the blues impact on other musicians and bands while visiting manufactures showing us how various interments are made. The history of clubs and Venues like RAH, talking about show and notable artists who performed there over the years. Joe could visit Recording studios around the world. hecloud talk about how musician have traveled around over the years. He could have a segment called (Oily spot) talking with other musicians about their past experiences on the road.

Music impact everyone, it would be great to have a show talking about its history with behind the scene footage and so much more. Joe has such and great passion for music and its history I’M sure He would love doing it. He might even get a chance to play some very iconic guitars along the way, while giving everyone an up close and personal look, guitars from SRV, Buddy Holly, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, Chuck Berry just to name a few.

Who knows Thom Beers, the exec producer of all the reality shows? Someone plant the idea in his head, if Joe is willing to do it?

I would be seriously interested in seeing a list of stuff for sale and prices.  If there is something there, I'd love to buy it from Joe directly....

Think about it Joe....You know we would appreciate owning your old gear!!!

Re: Joe's Big Guitar & Amp Garage Sale ... ???

Honestly, I am also in the position of Joe in that I have collected far too much gear. That being said, I can definitely find a reason to buy some of Joe's gear. I can't help it. I'm definitely interested in seeing a list of items and making a bid.
