Re: My favorite amp.... What's yours?
Old Blackface Fender Bassman and Bandmaster heads They love the Marshall 4x10 speaker cabs. Hand wired heads that are much cheaper than the current boutique heads. These amps also love pedals.

Marshall 1987X. I've tryed a lot and this is my favorite.
Right now, it's my '74 Marshall 50w 1987 lead head into a vintage Marshall 4x12 w/ G12H30s. I did the whole amp pairing thing for a while but realized that a cranked up vintage Marshall with a great Strat (or Les Paul) makes me happy. My 100w Metro/Marshall 69-spec comes in a close second? Maybe my old Twin Reverb for cleans? Really depends on the day lol!
My newly aquired Marshall JCM 2555 SL (Slash)...fought with it when I first got it but now that it is re-tubed and set up for my style - wow.
Justin - great to see a post from ya big guy! Where ya been?
I'm like Stratpaul (good to see you back)…depends on the phase of the moon. I've been playing my Tweed Twin a lot lately.
57 Twin tied in with a Marshall SJ 2X12

Jimmy Thackery was in town 4 years ago and was playing through a Andrew and a Ivan. It was a small venue that JB played at the year before. Jimmy Thackery's tone was stellar that night!!! That was my initiation to Cat 5 amps. Someday.......
Dr. Z MAZ 38 Studio Deluxe 1x12 combo. I've had it for almost 10 years and it's been my #1 the entire time. It's a pretty darn loud little combo and has the best clean tone of any amp I've ever played, but gets a nice bit of grit when you crank the volume. Sounds great w/ single coils and HBs, and handles pedals really well. Great amp, and much easier on my back than the Super Reverb I used to haul around, which is why I wanted a 1x12.

Thanks for the welcome guys, it has been a while hasn't it? Where to start...I have a wedding in 5 months to prepare for, a big move, honeymoon, new job, etc. Not to mention I've fallen back heavily into an Eric Johnson frame of mind. I still love what Joe does but deep down EJ is still the one guy that reflects everything that I want to hear from a guitarist. The rig now consists of a few vintage Marshalls, vintage Fenders, a Tube Driver, some Echoplexs, TC Chorus SCF, EH Memory Man, dd3, crybaby classic, ts808, and a Hendrix Fuzzface. Pretty much a dead on EJ rig.....sounds unreal though!
That's great man congrats on the life changes - hopefully your soon-to-be better half appreciates your passion for guitar...;)
Sounds like a great rig - you have always had a feel for EJ's tone and playing - how about a demo of the full EJ rig showing both the Clean and Lead tones?

This has been a fun thread to look at. We get so caught up in multiple amps its fun to think what One amp would use...
If I had one amp it would be my Vox AC15hw. The AC30 model would be fine too... but my AC15 is the perfect amp for me right now.
I could play any gig with my 58 RI LP, Fulltone Fulldrive, Ocean Efx Vintage Echo, and the AC15hw. I do love adding my Vibrolux custom for some extra American Girth.
That rig is on youtube. Both amps, that guitar and those pedals.

I love my Classic 30 have had it for two years and it has become my number 1 amp, even over the Jub. Not because it sounds better but its more versitalel and not nearly as big to lug around. That amp and a few pedals and I can do almost anything.

Great amps...I'd love to own one at some point. Do you have to crank it to get great overdrive tones?
I believe they just brought the twinmaster back too which is another cool amp.
There are great tones at both low and high volume. I love the response this amp gives depending on how one hits the strings.
Two-Rock Studio Pro 35
Phaez Sibly.
20 Watts of EL84 goodness.
Soldano SLO/HR100+ with EVM12L loaded 4X12 cabinets.

My AC15C1 isn't quite the killer the HW version is, but for what I like to play and the guitars I have, it suits me just fine (keep in mind that I'm not a gigging musician, just a hobbyist)...
