Topic: JB Epiphone LP at Guitar center

I apologize if this has been posted already...couldn't find it.  I was online looking for guitar for my son and GS is advertising the JB Epi.   I thought these were sold out????

Bonaburst #18, JB Epi #191, MusicMan Darklord, LP Cherryburst Traditional Plus, Gigliotti GT, Takamine, Takamine 12 string, Martin D-28 & GPCPA1, Fender Amer STD Strat, Fender Custom Shop Gold Metalflake, Custom "OSU" Wagner Tele, Gibson SG Limited Govt Model, Jim Kelly Combo

Re: JB Epiphone LP at Guitar center

think you may have missed the conversation on here, but it appears that this is not a limited edition model any longer, - they are continuing to produce it. - Which upsets some who understandably thought that they were buying into something exclusive, - but looked at another way means more exposure and recognition for Joe.

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

It doesn't really matter....it's an amazing guitar for the money....and I'm all for Joe getting any exposure....he more than deserves it.  Regardless, they did in fact promote it as a limited run....unless the marketing guru's meant it was a limited run until we make more....and that could have been made known.   Anyway...since this conversation already took place, my apologies

To be fair to Gibson/Epiphone, I think it is likely they had no idea the amount of interest the Epi JB Goldtop would generate, and as an unabashed capitalist I don't have a problem with them producing more. There are obviously lots of players who would like to have one...

I share Joe's philosophy on this kind of thing, too. I didn't buy mine as an investment, I bought it to play it. IMHO it is hands-down the best LP model Epiphone makes. I simply don't care how many other people own one, as that has nothing to do with my ability to enjoy mine...

Re: JB Epiphone LP at Guitar center

Just so I'm not misunderstood.  I will never sell mine....nor my Bonaburst.  I have pretty much every Joe thing available (to my wife's chagrin) and I will never sell any of it.  And while I'm happy more people will have the opportunity to own this exceptional guitar, they should have simply produced a run...see how it went....if the demand was there, produce more.  There was no need to entice buyers with the "limited" term.  I'm a huge proponent of capitalism....just honest capitalism.  Ok...I've said enough.  Looking forward to tryout my Bonawha...that was purchased by Santa without needing to advertise "limited"
