I can usually get Noah to laugh when I flash him the "shocker" hand gesture.  He laughs and does it back...its hilarous - I do it every time I see KWS. I think he remembers me now.

Bryan Lee is great to talk to one on one. He is one of the few elder people I know besides family that I can actually get a taste of what he is like as a person without asking him to tell a story. We talked about things arbitrary to what you'd normally talk to a legendary guitar player about.

Saw this show last night in ATL!! HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who loves the blues. I wish I had done more to get other folks around me involved in coming. The Roxy is a med-sized place, I think it holds around 1000 people. Unfortunately they put chairs out so we had to stay back in Row P. It wasn't as bad as it sounds. But would have loved to have been up closer. But it was a fantastic show!

Just helping to spread the word about going to see GOOD bands and GOOD live music as often as possible!!!

I believe they have just a couple of more shows in Fla. and that wraps it up!  Glad you enjoyed the show, they were great in Charlotte.

Ah, KWS will also be at Beale St. Music Festival this next weekend... Probably won't be the same identical show, but I'll be squeezing in as close as I can!!!

I saw my first KWS show last night at HOB in Orlando.  What a cool show.  We didn't get a chance to meet the band but we did meet and talk to Buddy Flett for a little while after the show.  I am so glad we went.  It was a blast.  The crowd was on fire.

As far as attendance, it appeared to be a full house.  Cameras were not allowed in so the pictures taken were with my cell phone.  Not the best quality but there are a few pretty good ones.  You will at least get an idea of what the show was like.

That is the way it was in Charlotte, about half full.  They have an upper section that was closed.  There was even a lot of promotion on the local Fox radio station.  The show was on a Tuesday night though.

Hey you guys really jelous that your getting to see KWS,  Ive been a big fan for a few years now, does anybody know if hes coming to the uk? as far as I know i dont think he has been over here ever, perhaps someone could put me right? i got the dvd last week, I thinks its great watched it 3 times now.  have fun          Kev

Hey Amorican,

Where were you?  Maybe it's because I was up by the stage most of the night, and looking around, it seemed pretty full to me.  I didn't really walk around, so I can't say what it was like in the back.  So, I could be wrong.  In any case, it was a great show.

Hey Susan,

We were somewhere in the middle of the floor for the first few songs and then moved around for a while. I don't know if it was bad promotion or lack of interest, but I remember going to see Kenny there and the place was packed.

We first decided to move because from where we were the sound mix was horrible. The keyboards were way too loud and although I was right in front of Kenny on some songs I couldn't hear his guitar at all... Very frustrating.

He wasn't as loud as I would have liked when he was playing with the other artists outside his band.  (Or, maybe everyone else was louder than they shoud have been), but when they left the stage and he was playing with his band, he was plenty loud. 

Either way, I still loved the show and  hope he comes back around.  I love his music and would love to see him again.

We got lucky in ATL. It was a packed house, and the show was incredible. I did have to use my new earplugs. They do come in handy. Still can hear everything, just not that part that actually hurts.

Hey Kev.
I didn't respond to your post because I don't know if KWS plays the UK.  He just wrapped up the "Legends" tour and after checking the tour page on his web site, found no future tour dates scheduled.  You may want to ask that question on his web site.

I did want to comment on his DVD.  I also bought it.  I wasn't sure I would like it but I loved watching these older guys play with Kenny Wayne. I especially liked listening to B.B. King and Bryan Lee.   I didn't realize that four of the artists had passed away by the time the DVD was released and at the show, Kenny told us that Etta Baker had also passed away.   That whole project was a great piece of work and  Kenny Wayne should be very proud.

I hope you get to see him in the near future.  He and his band are great fund to watch.  Oh...  and he really does an smashing version of Voodoo Chile.  In the meantime, you have Joe coming back to the U.K. in August and it just doesn't get any better than that.  smile
