Awesome job on both sets of pictures.

So cool to see the three blondes - like the look on Rick's face when he is taking his bow.

Don't you just love the lighting Joe is using.

Thanks for sharing these.

Great job on the pictures Jim. What kind of camera did you use. I'm curious, I'm no shutterbug & my pictures never turn out.

Re: Baltimore 11/11/11 pictures

Thanks everyone for the compliments and I'm glad you enjoy them!  I really enjoy shooting Joe.  I'll end up taking 400-500, hopefully getting a few that capture that special moment.

Hombre, I just use a Nikon D40, it's a basic DSLR (I've wanted to upgrade, just waiting for the right time).  I just purchased and used a Nikon 55-200 lens, so that lets me get in a little closer.  In Richmond I used an 18-105.  There, we were row C, I thought it was going to be closer, but we were further back than expected due to the pit.  Lesson learned: bring 2 lenses. smile

Thanks Manoj!  Next show we'll meet up.  I'm no expert, but what has worked for me is setting "S"hutter priority and set ISO to 1600.   I have to tweak the speed early in the show, I also look at the exposure values.  It's a fine balance getting that speed right, if it's wrong you either get blurry or dark pictures.   This show I tried focusing on taking pictures when the spotlight was on Joe and the background was dark.  I've also found that the blue-ish background works a lot better than when lighting is red-ish.  I take 400-500 pictures, so I'm snapping away quite a bit hoping to capture some of those great moments.

Killer! That editor works pretty good. I've had it do miracles on bad cellphone snaps. Amazing when there is a good image to start with.

It's fun playing around with stuff - these look great.  Those red guitars always looks so cool in a b/w background.  This is one of my favorite pictures (from Hot August Blues):

Awesome job in low light! I was at that show, and your pics bring back memories of an awesome show (although it wasn't all that long ago, but I'm old!).
Thanks for sharing!
