Topic: Palmer pocket amp?

Anyone tried one of these yet?

http://www.palmer-germany.com/162-1-pocket-amp.html

I know Joe uses the Palmer speaker emulator in his rack behind his rig, so they obviously make quality gear.  (NB: Check out their page that I linked to above for the pocket amp.  Scroll down.  Look at the illustration.  Who is that in the iPod graphic??)  big_smile   cool

The conspiracy theorist in me says that Joe's 4 amp (now 6 amp) stack behind him is all for show and he is really running his guitar through the Palmer pocket amp under the stage...  tongue

No, but back onto a serious track - this thing looks cool for use when I visit open jams without an amp in tow and want to plug my electric straight into the FOH system.  I am just looking for feedback from anyone who has used one and can give an evaluation of the tone.

Awesome! I'm NB, but I think you wanted JB to see who was playing on the iPod in the pic on that webpage wink

this really reminds me of the old SANSAMP pedals they used to sell.

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

I like that and particularly the use of it as a backup 'amp' - that potential scenario where you turn up at a gig, set-up your amp rig, there's no power or sound and you're thinking "how am I to sound half decent DI'ing straight thru' the desk?".  Now if this little device had an FX loop on it too...  big_smile

This has a loop according to the manual http://www1.conrad-uk.com/scripts/wgate … p;cookie_n[1]=uk_insert&cookie_v[1]=8V&cookie_d[1]=&cookie_p[1]=%2f&cookie_e[1]=Sat%2c+10-Dec-2011+22%3a45%3a28+GMT&scrwidth=1360

That said I'd take the Palmer ..and may do .reckon its ideal for jam nights straight into the house PA and a touch of ambience via the desk
