Re: Witch one first,JB Fuzz Face,TS 808,BOSS DD3 .......

For amps without FX loop this is how the FX chain should look: guitar -> tuner -> wah or volume pedal -> distortion/overdrive -> modulation pedals (i.e. Chorus / Phaser / Tremolo) -> delay -> reverb
It has often been commented that the DD3 is not ideal in front of the amp, especially when used with OD pedals. You'll just have to find a compromise lowering the Level.

For amps with an FX loop: guitar -> tuner -> wah or volume pedal -> distortion/overdrive into the front of the amp.
Use two extra cables to put modulation pedals (i.e. Chorus / Phaser / Tremolo) -> delay -> reverb through the amp's FX loop.

I think Joe has his Fuzz before the Tubescreamer to help tame the highs of the fuzz.

Placing any effect in the chain will alter your sounds and although there are certain rules, it all depends on your taste. I've seen guys put the wah at the end of the chain and get awesome sounds (Dimebag), while  to my ears the wah is an outboard tone and should be really close to my guitar, so when I use one, it's first in the chain.

To be honest, I have all kinds of dirt boxes, delays etc. but I hardly ever use um anymore. Nowadays I take my Teye Electric Gypsy guitar or a Les Paul and a zendrive and use whatever amp is available. I'd like to use all my nice stuff all the time but I hate carrying it around. Last time I went all out, I used my Ceriatone ODS 50 combo paired with Koch KC50 with Marshall 2x12 and brought my board with a wah and couple of dirt boxes, delay in the Koch FX loop, reverb in the ODS dumbleator loop. It sounded awesome. The Koch does the marshall thing really good and pairs nicely with the ODS.
I really should get a band again...
