Topic: Tone for "So Many Roads"

Hi All
Does anyone know which two heads ( Silver Jub and CarolAnn? or Cat 5? or Twinkland)Joe uses for "So Many Roads" and what pedal if any. Really would like to capture that killer tone of that song.
Thanks Ron

Re: Tone for "So Many Roads"

Hey Ron,

I am not sure of the exact rig that Joe uses on that track, but when I was playing at getting that tone myself, I ended up using the Carol-Ann OD2R sim on my Axe-FX with a TS808 pedal sim before it.  Not quite there yet, and I am still playing with it...

The Axe-FX allows dual amp sims, so I might have to throw a Marshall in there alongside maybe, to add a bit more grit to the tone...

I get somewhere near it using a Demeter Comp, Timmy, Cornish SS3 and ST2 (all stacked together) and Cornish Tape Echo

Settings:

Demeter v 50% comp 40%
Timmy v 50%, g 60%, bass 30% Treble 20% (to give a mid boost)
SS3 Vol 45%, Lows 70% Treble 40% Sustain 100%
ST2 Vol 70% Gain 70% Bass 25% Treble 30% (again, a big mid boost)
Tape Echo Sim - c.270/300ms, 5 repeats c 2khz bandwidth (which would equate to somewhere in the tape/analog echo ball park- I don't have reverb so I use the TES to get depth too..

Hope this helps.
