Topic: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

I recently bought a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100W. What other amp I can buy to get Joe's tone on BCC? I have a 2 x 12 cab with EVM12L's. Thanks in advance!

Re: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

Another Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100W ??

Re: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

Why not a Catagory 5 amp

Re: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

Marshall Jubilee. It's always the base for Joe's tone.

Re: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

The Jubilee is VERY expensive! I was kind of hoping that my DSL would somehow replace the Jubilee and find some other amp not that expensive to pair with my DSL... Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Re: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

The Ceriatone Jub clone isn't that expensive.

+ it all depends on how you're using the other amp... part time or full-time.

Get the Ceriatone 2550 (50W) or the 2555 (100W) and dial in Joe's settings with the DD3 in the loop and you get his tone to a T. Honestly.
The Ceriatone 2550 is so good, I've ordered a second one.  cool

What do you mean by part time of full time??

What are those settings?

presence 5, bass 10, mids 7.5, treble 4.5, Master 10, volume 5 gain 5

Lead channel on and rhythm clip off (at least that's what I think and use myself). BTW, the Ceriatone goes to "11". Ha!  cool

Just to know. Where can I buy the Ceriatone? I went to their website and its a mess. Do they sell it by parts or the complete head?

If I was Joe I'd run the Jubilee 100% of the time, and the other amp just here and there.

Hi
I agree with Spider you absolutly need a Marshall Silver Jubilee to obtain the tone. And of course somehow to get the talent that is in Joe's fingers transplanted to yours.

Send Nik at nik@ceriatone.com an email. He's responds very quickly and has fantastic customer service. You can buy his amps as kits or fully assembled.
BTW, I'm not affiliated to Ceriatone in any way. I have a couple of their amps and think they're fantastic value. Look for Ceriatone 2550 clips on youtube and see/hear for yourself.

Re: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

Try a Marshall 1959 Super Bass.

Re: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

Awesome! I'll start doing some research. Thanks to all!

Re: Buying another amp for Joe's tone

don't forget that a crucial piece of joe's tone is volume.  you need to be able to push these amps.

What do you mean by this (push these amps)? Like turning the volume really loud? Excuse my questions...
