Topic: Gold & Amber Knobs........Dickey Betts????

Was just watching The Allman Brothers Live At Greatwood and Dickey Betts' gold top Les Paul had gold and amber top hat knobs. I was wondering if anyone knew if Joe got this idea for his knobs on hid signature Les Paul from Dickey Betts'.

I believe that pete green also had mismatched control knobs so it is certainly not Joe's original idea although it is a trademark on many of his les pauls.

His 59 and the black LP don't have mismatched knobs.

Oh yeah and Gary Moore too, since he bought Peter Greens Les Paul.  Does anybody know if Paul Kossoff did this as well?  It would seem if he did it would all be full circle for Joe.

Re: Gold & Amber Knobs........Dickey Betts????

Joe played paul's LP on this tour and it didn't look like it had miss matched top hats.

I've always assumed the Peter Green/Gary Moore Les Paul was the inspiration.  I like the look!

Michael Bloomfield also had mismatched knobs on his Lester.
