Topic: EPIPHONE FLYING V

looking for a Flying V soon should be able to pick up a Gibson for about £500

however there is an Epiphone 58 korina going locally for £100 i am tempted

any one had one of these or compared them to a Gibson ?

I played an epi explorer at the uk Gibson exhibit and it played every bit as well as my LP. I have since plekked my LP and dropped in boutique pups and it is fantastic but I would think that an epi v could be very good with a professional set up / fret job. You would have a bit of cash left for upgrades as long as the badge won't bother you later.

I've got one and love it, but can't compare it to the Gibson, never played one.

Gotta love the price. It leaves plenty of room to do mods.

I have a Gibson V and I really like it.  But I tried some Gibson V's out before I bought this one that were real dogs.  If the Epiphone plays and sounds well I would buy it.  It really boils down to the individual guitar and not the brand.
