Topic: New Member from Southampton England

Hello my fellow Bonamassa devotees.
I've been a fan since 'Had to Cry Today' was released.
Seen Joe live a couple of times in Bournemouth and Portsmouth. Awesome gigs, great player.
Loving the Rockpalast & Albert Hall DVDs. I plan to see BCC very soon.

I play lead guitar in a classic rock covers band called Greenbacks. We do Cream, Sabbath, Led Zep, Hendrix, Puple etc.. My current rig consists of a 2001 Gibson Customshop '58 flametop reissue and several Marshall Jubilees (2553 full stacks x 2no, 2554 combo x1) I got my first one long before I knew of any artists who used them.  I just tried a bunch of amps and got the one that sounded best to my ears. The first Jube I bought was actually cheaper in the guitar shop than the DSLs etc.. at the time. (£350 for a 2553 and cab- you don't find deals like that anymore!) I'm on the lookout for another les paul, give me a shout if you hear of any going.

I'm a huge fan of blues and classic rock in general and I'm just glad someone is still flying the flag.

Re: New Member from Southampton England

madaxeman ... now there's a handle if ever I heard one!  Maybe I shouldn't ask but .....

Anyways, names regardless a warm welcome to the forum from just down the M27 in sunny Poole.  I was at the Bournemouth and Southampton gigs too and yes they were awesome and unforgettable.  Hope Joe makes it down this way again.

Glad you decided to join and look forward to seeing more posts from you.

Postscript edit:

Hah!  The penny has just dropped regarding your handle.  See, I was thinking axe as in thing for chopping trees down.  DOH!  Having a blonde moment there (Im brunette).

Re: New Member from Southampton England

Thanks for the welcome Lynn.
At least the penny dropped in the end with my handle (it takes most people longer to figure it out)

I used to gig alot down in Poole, I remember the last place we played was The Lord Nelson or something like that. They had a noise limiter on the stage that kept cutting our power off. Absolutely did my head in. Mr Kyps is a pretty damn good venue though.
