Topic: New Charlie Hunter Fan

Can anyone recommend me some Charlie Hunter songs?
Im on itunes, and I wanna buy some of his stuff

Tell me songs - or if a whole album is good.

Im not much into the horns and stuff, but the bluesy jazz sounds really good to me.

OMG I'm obsessed with Charlie. I've been a huge fan for a few years now. He is the player who most inspires me out of anyone.

If you don't know much about Charlie I'd go for the Steady Groovin' which is a compliation of all his best tracks. Another cool album is Ready, Set Shango.

My favourite record of his that I've got so far is his first one which is just called Charlie Hunter Trio. It was originally just meant to be a demo and he is playing a 7 string regular guitar as opposed to the 8string bass/guitar. So there isn't any dedicated bass on the recording but it is super cool and features some of Charlie's best playing imo. What he plays on that record is something I'd like to try out with a sax player and maybe a drummer too.

Oh and if you're not totally into horns you could always go for his Duo album with Leon Parker or his solo 8 string guitar album.
