Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

Well I hope my Devils can make it back home for another game....man, I have never seen a run like this from what was a quite average Kings team for most of the year (damn ex-Flyers!)......not crying sour grapes....but I hope the Kings don't score the first goal like they did Monday night!!!  4 or 5 jabs at the puck under Marty's pads....and no whistle......and hardly a mention from the broadcast crew.....oh well  I hope  suddenly hockey crazed SoCal doesn't burn down LA if they win tonight!!!!

They might. Devils better figure out that low shots don't go in.

Yeah, I've seen a lot quicker whistles than that. In defense of the refs, even I could see the puck and I was watching on TV. The commentary I heard, they mentioned if the refs could see the puck, they won't blow the whistle.

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

Now the Kings can win in NJ...so Vanderbeek and the Devils fans are forced to watch the Kings celebrate live, and so the LA bandwagon has to watch it on TV. smile

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

Yah, it was the Devil's night last night. The 6th day of the 6th month... dunno where the other "6" comes from for the "666".

Major Tom to ground control...

Congrats to the Kings and the Devils!
I wonder what the odds of a Kings/Devils finals were at the beginning of the season.
I'm guessing of you put some money on that at the beginning of the year, you'd be collecting a tidy sum of money.
That said, there are no flukes to making the finals. In the playoffs, these were the best two teams.
Prediction time! Kings in 6.

So much for inexperienced goaltenders crumbling under pressure. Quick wins the Conn Smythe, and rightly so. Great series with an anticlimactic final game that was effectively over after the first period.

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

Rudy, Bummer for you, but happy for my X-Flyers! Wow, I read your comment about the lack of hockey fans in the Newark area, that's annoying for a hockey fan. Maybe everyone is fried with that turnpike traffic getting to the Newark airport...just dreadful...hope the new construction helps, I can only imagine how many people miss flights!

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

TIp my hat to the Kings they were unstoppable.....basically shutting down every aspect of the Devils offense........what a shame a game 6 had to be decided by 3 major penalty power play goals....blink an eye and it's 3-0.....too bad they missed the identical.....albeit not as bloody, hit on Gionta 3 seconds before Skuderi got face planted....!!! And cudos to the refs for there fantastic pick play to make it 4-0......not whining....but.....well maybe!!!! The Kings got 1 bad goal by Marty....so i wouldn't exactly pin this loss on the goaltender!!!!!....oh well quite a run by New Jersey....so glad it wasn't a sweep!! ....I'll listen to Flyer fans revel in the glory of their former players hoisting the Cup any day!!! LOL!!!!! oh and New Jersey transit train drops you 3 blocks from Prudential Center.....thats the problem....3 long blocks!!!!!! Great....now all i've got till football season is the Mets!!!!

What a totally AWESOME thing to do, so thoughtful and such a kind gesture! Thumbs up to a great hockey fan!

L.A. Kings Justin Williams just moved in to his summer residence at the Jersey Shore (near Atlantic City Jersey Shore) right across the street from my daughter's best friend! Seems real friendly so far. Canadians LOVE the Jersey shore!

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

My nephew (a big Flyers fan) plays ice hockey at Univerisity of Pittsburgh, its a club sport there.

How cool is this ~

So, my nephew and 9 of his teammates practiced for 90 minutes yesterday with 8 Pittsburgh Penguins including Sidney Crosby.  He had Crosby coming at him in 3 on 2 drills and also was on 2 on 0 drills with Crosby as the other player.  He doesn’t hate Crosby anymore and said he was a cut way above even the Penguins on the ice.  Penguins reached out to Pitt's team due to the NHL lockout.
