Of the four teams remaining, any one of them has the talent to win the Cup. Although the Hawks handled the Kings pretty well during the season (I think they were 2-1), this is a different Kings team that got better as the season progressed. The Hawks are favored to beat the Kings, and the Pens to beat the Bruins, but I don't pay too much attention to Vegas odds.
I can't wait for these series to get started!

Go Hawks!

Boston doesn't have the talent to win, the other 3 do, but I think the Kings have the edge to repeat. Playoffs are 80% goaltending, and Kings have a huge edge there over all 3 teams (unless Emery can come back, in which case Kings still have an edge but not as big as over Crawford). Pens have possibly the best offense since the Gretzky Oilers, which can hide their deficiencies in net, and easily overcome Raask and the Bruins. I cant see that series going more than 5.

Hawks/Kings will be close games, at least 2 OTs imo, but Quick will carry them.  Then its up to the Kings to figure out how to shut down the Pens powerplay.

You are right that Boston doesn't have the talent but the one thing they do have is defense and hitting and have found out that when the Pens get hit it affects their offense. Not that I'm a fan of either but noticed this in seeing them play throughout the season.  I think it will be an interesting series especially since Pitt still has their #2 goalie in the net.

Hawks/Kings will also be fun to watch and I agree Quick will be the man and Kings will win in 7.

I think they solved that issue with the line changes in Game 5 against the Isles. That could change with Boston being better hitting/defensively than either the Isles or Sens, but I still don't expect it to be close.

Great day tomorrow with the double up in games, but no game in Chicago Monday. The only good reason for being in that city wink

I agree that these will be tight games between the Hawks and Kings. Crawford is not Quick, but I don't think he gets enough credit.
The Kings are a "scoring challenged" team. The Hawks didn't have that 24 game streak because of their offense, it was because of their defense. They got away from that a bit against Detroit, but really turned it on the last 3 games. I think these will be low scoring affairs in this series....I'm biased, but I like the Hawks in 7, with a whole bunch of 1-0, 2-1 & 3-2 games.

Hawks take the first one, and now are up 3 zip in game 2.  (They scored the 3rd goal as I was typing this...YES!)

I better shut up, before I jinx the Hawks / Corey.

Go Hawks!

I'm envious that you got to see that game 7, against Wings, Bill.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Now 4-0 and the Kings pulled Quick. I wonder when the last time HE was pulled from a game?

So much for Boston not having enough talent.
I thought the Pens would eventually prevail (and they may still), but Boston has come out and dominated, winning game one handily and now leading game 2 by a 4-1 score after the first period. Lots of hockey to play yet, but I think Boston just showed they belong!

lol Just a poke check, Bill! lol Got the perfect retaliation I was hoping for, too! cool as ice!!!

Actually, you quoted what I felt back when the Blackhawks were on their aboriginal streak!

Haha! I knew what you were up too...or at least I thought I did, hence the "Bah!"

Gotta admit, I never saw this type of dominance from them Bruins. Anybody that says they knew Boston would be up 2-0 (and have held the Pens to a single goal in the process), is lying!

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

Well the so called experts have missed the boat so far with Bruins series. That second Marchand goal was a dagger. Will never count Pitt out until the final horn.
Speaking of Quick being pulled, have you ever seen Crosby look this bad? Pens trying to take the body too much, not their style. I think with the short season the Bruins hitting their stride.
Hope LA and Pitt at least make it a series. Watching games that are decided by the third period are not exciting.

Lying, or had foreknowledge of "The Fix" roll lol  I never suspected until an 0-4 power play outing by the Penguins in game 1...

I actually hope for dual sweeps, then a rewrite of the scripts for the finals...

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

Well Pittsburg never did show up. 2 goals in 4 games, ZERO points from Crosby AND Malkin.

Rask had an insane series and makes one think maybe he's the man this year.

Hawks vs Bruins for the cup? If so, I still say Hawks win it all......in 6.

I heard a pilot come on the intercom when there was a wailing baby onboard a flight (to Boston I think) and asked if that was Crosby crying! lol If he's not hurt, the criticism of not showing up just might.

Rask is up to the task.  "The Fix" in 5...

Re: No Hockey Fans This Post Season???

The Bruins sure looked tough against the Pens. I'm guessing Toronto fans must be agonizing over Boston's place in the Cup finals. For those who don't recall, Toronto had a 3 goal lead with about 10 minutes left in game 7 against Boston...and lost (give Boston credit for an improbable comeback, but they're lucky to still be alive). Does this then mean that Toronto is a better team than Pittsburgh because they took Boston to 7 games but the Pens got swept? Sorry, the distributive property only works in math, not sports.

Congrats to Boston...and hoping tonight determines who they'll play!
