Topic: G'day from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada!

Hello to the JB Community!

My name is Curtis Dauphney and I'm a 19 year-old blues/rock guitarist from Sydney, Nova Scotia. I've been a HUGE Bonamassa fan for the past 3 or 4 years, and I am proud to mention him as one of my biggest influences towards my musical career. I am currently attending McKenzie College, enrolled in the Applied Music Technology course (very small class - only 6 of us. Ha!), and every time the class gets together for practice/composition classes, I can't help but to jam out a Bonamassa tune. Sadly, at the start of the year, no one in the class had heard of JB (with the exception of a few instructors.) Luckily for them, I came in and introduced them to the brilliance they were missing. By now I'm sure they're tired of me always bringing in JB DVDs and notation books, but it was needed in my opinion.

It's been a dream of mine to see JB, a hero of mine, perform live for the longest time - all of these live concert DVDs are just a tease. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like he'll be playing at any local venues, or even in the Maritimes any day soon. Hopefully I can save up some cash and go see a show of his when he rolls around to Montreal, Quebec. Regardless, I'll still always be the big fan that I am, and enjoy his music.

Already, I am impressed with the community Joe has started here, and I am eager to see what will become of it in the future.

Cheers,

Curtis

From one member of the JB Community to you, Curtis, a very warm but late welcome to the forum and please don't take our tardiness personally.  Sometimes there's so much else going on that welcomes get overlooked.

Hope you stick around and enjoy the forum for many years to come.

Better late then never.
A warm welcome from Germany.
Really like your story about jamming out Bonamassa tunes in your class. If your colleagues are bored they are studying the wrong thing   big_smile
Wish you lots of fun here.
