I don't like seeing stuff like this. IMHO Maybe I shouldn't say that. I should say I wouldn't buy it. I'm glad Joe's signature has value, for Joe's sake. BUT:

When you meet Joe, he signs a LOT of stuff. I don't think people should look to make a profit from his generosity. Not to bring up Kiss, the most marketed band in history, but Gene Simmons has a very keen nose for people who are not fans. If he thinks you're going to sell whatever he is signing, he won't sign it. Yet other acts charge $ for signatures.

Personally, I'd never sell any signed piece unless the money was going to a charity. Plus, if I ever wanted to sell signed things for a profit, I would feel like a total d-bag instead of a self-proclaimed "true fan."

Yes, yes, there are companies that sell signed things specifically... and good for them. They get signatures for free then sell them... easy money. To me, the signature is more of a souvenir of the concert and M&G experience than it is the value of the signature. The signature certifies the "memory" of a past show... which to me is priceless. You can't buy that! wink

For your viewing pleasure, I found a youtube vid of Gene Simmons calling upon the fans to "weed out" the autograph dealers in the crowd. Get's really good around 1:00. In the Demon's defense, he was not a weiner about it... he was very concise and clear, collected and calm.

I love Kiss to death, but scenes like these really makes one appreciate JB!

+1

It bothers me that people would take advantage of Joe's generosity and exploit the fact that he's all about the fans. The stuff Joe has signed for me are among some of my most treasured possessions.

Re: Epiphone Les Paul Standard signed by Joe on Ebay

This guy gets dozens of pick guards signed. Then pairs them with the lowest level Epiphone and Squire guitars available.  Many of the photos I've seen in the past auctions show the signed pick guards simply sitting on top of the installed pick guard of the guitar.  Not even a good faith effort expended.  This is not some fan trying to make a buck.  It's an ongoing business.  Whatever.
