Put your head between your knees and breath deeply.....it's not the end of the world. We've got a very serious gig comin' in Oakland at a major Bay Area venue in Dec., Guid, you'll survive. If I were you I'd grab some tix for Skynyrd @ Thunder Valley on 9/22. Or dude Folsom Live on 9/23-24???? Cold Blood, Los Lobos?????

PHEW! Good save J Dawg! I'm not really a fan of Skynyrd, but I just might have to go see Lydia Pense/Cold Blood. Never seen Los Lobos, but I imagine it would be a good show. I had heard they were going to be in Folsom but had forgotten about it. Thanks Dude. In the meantime, till Oakland, I'll have to store up all my angst and energy till then and just let 'er rip that night! Hope to meet you and others there.
Enjoy all you lucky lucky people! Will be with you all in spirit and waiting for the vids!

I won't drop my spare battery on the floor this time Phil! 
Johnny the Shu, I and several others will be loaded for bear with the vid gear. A week to go and the excitement is palpable out here. A dozen fans from San Diego are going up and probably as many from the LA basin. We will represent just like the London crew.
edit, Arlan put up a sweet poster of the gig on his facebook page and a few of us copied it to XP.

Rick....This time around we need HD video + 7.1 channel audio my friend...can you say 'tripod + headcam on head' quick enough....and no head movement please.....

Gee, we're right across the freeway from Studio City, there should be lots of film crews available on short notice... Who's picking up the tab? Maybe we can do a 3D production while we're at it.

I will be filming full 1080p in 5.1 surround on tripod if allowed....both shows...

"Sounds great Rocket. Tripod though? There was hardly room to sit, much less room for a tripod in that place. When we said it was like sardines in a can, we were not exaggerating! A table for 2 was maybe 2 feet square with 2 tiny rickety chairs. If you shifted your position, you almost knocked over your table and your neighbor's too! You were shoulder to shoulder with the folks next to you. If someone needed to get up it took a team effort.

Sounds great Rocket. Tripod though? There was hardly room to sit, much less room for a tripod in that place. When we said it was like sardines in a can, we were not exaggerating! I'm thinking about bringing a small tripod as well. We'll see.
@Rick Dianne from JBXP will drive down from Sacramento if she can get one of those 11:30 TIX, let me know if you have one left.

Hey Rocket.....a plausible solution....if you have a mini-tripod, nail the darn thing to the wall (high enough), camera on, 5.1 surround on....pray that the batteries last the entire show. No issues with 'packed like sardines' tables falling, or 'head crops'........and Rick has the 'know-how' to master the whole darn thing.....I'm sure you do as well....we'll be waiting for the professional bootlegs..... Rick can 'loan' you a couple....."PALs"......what say Rick??? winkie-winkie.......
