Rick, can't thank you enough for getting the whole show like you did.  Your stuff is great, blows mine away, but  I'm glad I can contribute.

Good Lord! I haven't even watched mine yet. WOW, it is even better than I remembered! I love the looks on Arlen's face, I could barely see him from my spot. I have to say after seeing the same song performed the next night by Robben Ford and Michael Landau, that this version blows theirs away.  cool

edit: I just finished this little gem. The Thrill Is Gone jam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDPdyStyzBc Ron breaks out his Goldtop and shows he's no slacker either!

( i need to stop doing that i know ) ...if i lived out in CA i'd be buying up the best seats in the house for Jeff Becks two gigs at Napa and Santa Rosa....for one i do love a Jeff gig, usually brings on some top top surprise...and two!...it coincides with Joe's 4 day tour break...if i had to pick one only i'd plum for Napa!....hey!...just guessing folks!  wink

P.S.  Loved the Wee Wee Hours!  Thanks for capturing Rick!

Hey Patty...I  tried to talk you into coming out  for this show!  I bet you wish you took me up on that offer!!  Oh well next time....that is if there will be a next time!

F.F. Fred,
I would have loved to take you up on the offer, but my Mom and brother (who's been very sick) just got back into Iowa (after a year+ of being gone), plus Mom's 82nd birthday, so you see it would have been very difficult emotionally for me to not be there for them, and ended up having to go to a funeral for a friend, too.                                                                                                                                            I was very humbled by your offer,  sorry I didn't get right back with you, just very busy plus going thru divorce also, so just one too many irons in the fire......I knew it would be out-of-this world....wish there was some other way to watch, my dang computer takes so long to buffer....cramps my style of just blissing out on a continuous stream of Joe.....just love that guitar guy  Joe cool

Good grief. I just opened and viewed the Soul Pop jam. TWENTY EIGHT MINUTES OF FUNK!  If my editor doesn't melt down and the link to youtube stays alive for a day, I might get it loaded. If and when I do, grab your favorite beverage and a snack before viewing.

GAWD!!!  I've been waiting all day to get to see some new vids! Thanks Rick and Fred. If a DVD does get mad of these shows, I'm definitely on the list! Keep 'em coming!

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

For me this is okay stuff. This group is a bit too lightweight funk for my style.  I prefer all his other projects but its nice to see this once in while.

I know what you mean.  This is more on the jazzy casual side of funk and blues, no big fat chunky horns to make it nasty so to speak.  But to me, these guys were just exercising their chops, and they are all in great shape, so to speak.  Considering you got them figuring out what key and arrangements on the spot, I was taken in just fine thank you.  At moments I felt a great little Little Feat cruising along to their stuff vibe.  No Tower of Power horns accompaniment to make it thick like Spanish Moon, but Mike Merritt's bass comes through as it was really sounding on NONE of the videos I've seen so far.  I sometimes had a hard time seeing him, it was so dark, and he was in the back making faces, BUTT, his bass lines were felt everywhere in the place, and never too harshly!!!  There was an earthquake in Long Beach hours before the show, I think it was Mike restring his bass at home!!!
